Former FBI Director James Comey is in serious legal trouble if the General Patreaus case has any bearing – a case Comey tried and sought a conviction for.

According to a 2016 article in the Washington Post, in early 2014 top federal law enforcement officials gathered together to discuss the criminal charges they were contemplating against David Petraeus, the ­hero wartime general and former CIA director whose public career was derailed about 15 months earlier over illegal actions he had purportedly taken.

Multiple meetings, and Comey's testimony is muddled.

The first meeting was one-on-one at Comey's behest. He generically says he took notes because he thinks Trump's character requires this. He prepared notes after the first meeting.

The meeting that Comey says bugged him out was the third one, the "I order you to clear Flynn" incident (characterization of Trump's words is Comey's, sworn under oath).

The second or middle of three meetings was the one-on-one dinner, the "request for loyalty" discomfort.

The other big questions r Comey worked with the Illegal Clinton Foundation. Also, we keep hearing his brother works 4 the Illegal Clinton Foundation!!! I would think that fired FBI director James Comey did not look into the 33,000 missing government confidential emails since his brother & himself have worked for the Clintoon foundation!!! James Comey is one “Piece Of Work!!!”

I think Comey knew in advance that he was going to disclose that he was the leaker. His 7 page statement asserts the leaked memo was unclassified. He planned his testimony on being the leaker for this memo. I think he expects the fact that HE leaked it adss to the credibility of the assertion, and makes the fake obstruction charge stronger.

The president might be a criminal, I thought it was important to get this out to the public. I wanted this to be dealt with using a psecial prosecutor. Yeah. That was planned. That is not "spur of the moment," oops, indiscretion.

I disagree. Any PRIVATE conversation with the PRESIDENT of the United States should be considered 'CONFIDENTIAL' at a minimum. What right does the Director of the FBI have to forward Trump's PRIVATE conversations with him to the media?

Since Comey is OUTRANKED by Trump, is it not Team Trump who would be cognizant over classifying Comey's memo and not Comey himself?

I am guessing DOJ AG Sessions scored SOMETHING incriminating from Comey's office while he was away and locked out, including any tapes or notes on meetings with Trump! That could play a role in how this pans out..

Whichever way it happened I think Comey’s entire history, demeanor and narrative show a man so unbalanced, so unethical, so unprincipled that he should never have been allowed anywhere near a courtroom and certainly should not have qualified as Director of the FBI.

Comey did not leak classified memos.

It was unprofessional...but not criminal..

I think, at minimum, the memo would have been classified "UNCLASSIFIED/FOR OFFICIAL USE ONLY", which means it's unclassified but still needs to be protected.

You don't go sending UNCLASSIFIED/FOUO documents to a friend!

It's a violation, but can he be prosecuted? I don't know.

So here is the question:

Do you think Comey planned ahead of time to tell the tale of how and why he leaked the information?

Or do you think he just got swept up in the moment?
He was pleading for understanding and compassion as he tried to portray himself as the weakling victim of Trump The Bully.
Did he just get carried away with his own narrative and go further than he had intended?

just my opinion, but everthing the xlintonista regime has done over the decades has been carefully choreographed, scripted, and poll tested.

that’s why we see a dozen different MSM sources reading the exact same buzz words from the DNC daily broadcast briefing.

same here with comey, plus he had the additional advice from his budddy robert (special counsel) mueller.
