Former GOP presidential nominee Mitt Romney revealed Friday that former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton encouraged him to think about being President Trump's secretary of State.
Romney, who is also the former governor of Massachusetts, made the comments at his annual political summit in Park City, Utah.
While he was a vocal Trump critic during the presidential campaign, Romney was under consideration to be Trump’s secretary of State before Trump picked Rex Tillerson, who was then serving as CEO of Exxon Mobil Corp. Romney said he would have been willing to serve as the country’s top diplomat if Trump offered him the job.
“If I could have helped shape foreign policy to protect the country I love, I would have been more than willing to do so,” Romney wrote in a letter to The Salt Lake Tribune in December.

I wonder how close Romney came to being tapped for that post? I know that Kelly Ann Conway was swamped with messages from folks like us on every social media outlet she had an account and apparently fought against Romney with all her might. That SHOULD have earned her with some major cred with Trump. If not then, then certainly now with Romney’s confession of being a Hillary agent.
