Before she became the first person prosecuted by the Trump administration for leaking documents, Reality Leigh Winner received a military commendation for assisting in overseas airstrikes that killed hundreds of enemy combatants.
Winner, an Air Force senior airman, was a linguist proficient in Farsi, Dari and Pashto, languages spoken in Iran and Afghanistan. She served with the 94th Intelligence Squadron, 707th Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance Wing, at Fort Meade, Md.
Though her parents say Winner never deployed outside the U.S., her work was considered so valuable that in October, she earned an Air Force Commendation Medal. That was two months before her discharge.

The AFCOM is not exactly the Medal of Honor, but journalists know next to nothing about the military.

What was her assistance? Translating something? Sounds like everyone got an award.
These days the other service arms refer to the Air Force as The CHAIR Force.
Army Commendation Medals, AF, Navy etc are not high ranking medals and many times given when someone did a half decent job but is leaving the military or going to another assignment. This award means nothing.
Too bad she let her Trump Derangement ruin her life.
This is how she got a Top Secret SCI clearance. Cryptolinguists must get the clearance before the first duty station. The Feds just transfered the clearance to her civilian career when she separated.
In the Air Force that could be true.
That’s all good. Doesn’t excuse her subsequent blatant crime. I once worked in a store where an employee was arrested for theft. Funny thing is, the week before she had caught a group of shoplifters and received an award. That’s called irony.

And, the Justice Dept. will give her a cell to live in!
My brother got the Army Commendation Medal. His whole company got it for service in an operation while in ‘Nam. Chances are, her whole unit got the Air Force Commendation Medal too. Maybe some of her fellow service members will step forward in the coming weeks, and give their points of view on her service time.
People I know still in the service say a lot of the people who joined up in the last 10 years are big libs there only for the benes. When they get deployment orders they easily get out of it. Air Force is the biggest lib magnet
And, the Justice Dept. will give her a cell to live in! ....Don’t bet a LOT on it.
Mine was essentially for being skilled with a soldering iron.
Are we sure that the Obammy Air Farce commending Reality Winner wasn’t just cover for her being A SPY FOR IRAN?
