WASHINGTON Few Republicans were quicker to embrace President Trumps campaign last year than Jeff Sessions, and his reward was one of the most prestigious jobs in America. But more than four months into his presidency, Mr. Trump has grown sour on Mr. Sessions, now his attorney general, blaming him for various troubles that have plagued the White House.
The discontent was on display on Monday in a series of stark early-morning postings on Twitter in which the president faulted his own Justice Department for its defense of his travel ban on visitors from certain predominantly Muslim countries. Mr. Trump accused Mr. Sessionss department of devising a politically correct version of the ban as if the president had nothing to do with it.
In private, the presidents exasperation has been even sharper. He has intermittently fumed for months over Mr. Sessionss decision to recuse himself from the investigation into Russian meddling in last years election, according to people close to Mr. Trump who insisted on anonymity to describe internal conversations. In Mr. Trumps view, they said, it was that recusal that eventually led to the appointment of a special counsel who took over the investigation.
Behind-the-scenes frustration would not be unprecedented in the Oval Office. Other presidents have become estranged from the Justice Department over time, notably President Bill Clinton, who bristled at Attorney General Janet Renos decisions to authorize investigations into him and his administration, among other things. But Mr. Trumps tweets on Monday made his feelings evident for all to see and raised questions about how he is managing his own administration.
They wholly undercut the idea that there is some rational process behind the presidents decisions, said Walter E. Dellinger, who served as acting solicitor general under Mr. Clinton.

FAKE NEWS
So why the public criticism of Justice?
NYT. Nuff said.
Yesterday he posted a zany Twitter message criticizing the Senate for stalling on confirming his nominations to many key posts -- including his ambassador to Great Britain.
The leading Democrat on the Senate committee that confirms these nominations released his own Twitter message afterward, politely pointing out that the vast majority of those nominations have never been formally sent to the U.S. Senate for confirmation because they're still being vetted by government agencies that have nothing to do with the Senate.
None of this bothers Trump. It's all noise to him, and it keeps people talking about him.
There are some here just itching to pounce on Sessions. They will flag this article as “See!”
It is just the opposite. If it’s in the Slimes, it’s cheese in the maze, and the exact opposite is true.
Just as when I kept telling everyone there was NOTHING to the garbage about “Bannon is going to be fired” (How’s that workin’ out?), all of this stuff is deliberately, er, “stirred” by the Trump administration to consistently and thoroughly occupy the fake news media with non-stories while they get stuff done.
Unfortunately, the HuffPo in an article yesterday, began to see this a little, although they still think it’s more accidental and/or the Democrats’ incompetence rather than Team Trump’s COMPETENCE at complete and total deception.
Go away with your fake news stupid persons.
He didn't recuse himself over some limp-wristed sense of propriety. He recused himself because his involvement would undermine a case in which the Trump administration is on the winning side.
It's no coincidence that his hurriedly-scheduled announcement about recusing himself came less than a day before Trump's legendary "Obama wiretapped me!" Twitter post that exposed the leaking and unmasking that had been done in the final months of the Obama administration.
I have yet to be impressed by Jeff Sessions.
His, "Aww shucks, I'm just a lil' old small town southern lawyer." shtick has grown tiresome.
He needs to grow some stones and start dismantling the Deep State and sending people to prison.
He needs to start putting the Fear of God into people other than Colorado pot smokers. And he needs to start with top-level officials from the previous administration.
Bull___, It’s the remaining Obama asshats in the Justice Department that are causing delay. They just need to get them out and clean house. I know that’s easier said than done but I think it will happen. I don’t believe for a millisecond that Trump is down on Jeff Sessions. The NYT has 0.00000 credibility and is nothing but a roost for liberal buzzards.
Hmmmmmmmm
They are just working their way thru the Trump Admin trying to get another scalp. Flynn went WAY too easily and hopefully PDT learned a lesson there

“people close to THE NY TIMES who insisted on anonymity” report the entire leadership of the paper are child rapists who hate the United States and want to exterminate all Labrador Retrievers.
Anyone can play the ANONYMOUS sources game.
FAKE NEWS
Sessions immediately dropped the ball by recusing himself, Trump needs fighters on his team.....what a limp joke.....the President has been very poorly served by Sessions so far.....
you dont see what is happening?...a lousy 4 months in and theres a special counsel already?...over a conspiracy theory?. All the law breaking that Obama did, did you see even a hint of a special counsel?..no you did not, Holder and Lynch would never let that happen. Trump is now out there defending himself, and coming dangerously close to falling into a trap. Sessions could have ended this dumb Russia story day 1, instead, he threw his power right out the window. The true collusion of Clinton/Comey/ Lynch is not being investigated..Clintons e mail crimes should be grand juried immediately...yet nothing is done. The media attacked Sessions over an absurd perjury claim, and i’m sorry, but he crumbled badly and recused himself. Trump was furious. and now you see why. Hes a nice man, but these are different times. Make no mistake, all sides are out to get Trump, he needs a loyal killer as AG. You saw first hand that Clinton was never charged for the e mail crimes...what lengths they went to to make sure of that. This is war, our side has all the power, yet who’s being attacked?...why you dont see this is perplexing.
Probably fake news but truthfully, I think Sessions is not doing a good job at all. He should be handing out indictments left right and center or at least get the fbLie investigating, and conducting polygraphs.
“If the NYT says it...it must be the opposite.”
yep.
NYT = Fake News = Lying Globalists Filth
Just noticed Trump’s dissatisfaction with Sessions is the banner on Fox News.
