The woman charged by the Department of Justice with stealing “Top Secret” information from the National Security Agency apparently believes being white is a form of terrorism.
That’s according to a tweet the alleged leaker, Reality Winner, sent in February. Winner, who is herself white, tweeted at rapper Kanye West that he should make a shirt declaring whiteness an act of terror.
“@kanyewest you should make a shirt that says, ‘being white is terrorism’,” she tweeted.
Winner’s social media history is filled with left-wing messages and support for progressives like Bernie Sanders, as The Daily Caller’s Chuck Ross has previously documented.
The majority of her recent tweets are angrily directed against President Donald Trump, in particular rehashing the liberal trope about “tiny hands.” She has also called the president an “orange fascist,” a “cunt” and bashed his selection of “Confederate General” Jeff Sessions amounts to racism. Sessions is head of the agency currently prosecuting Winner.
Winner held a Top Secret security clearance for her job at Pluribus International, an NSA contractor. She reportedly is the source for The Intercept’s Monday report about previously unknown Russian interference in the 2016 election.
Please note 2(c)(4). That excludes any member of Antifa, BLM, etc. That also excludes any sympathizer.
(NB: Those who have done clearances for years will recognize that ICPG 704.2 has typically applied to SCI only; however the recent replacement of DOD 5200.02-R with DODM 5200.02 (Apr 2017) replaces the adjudication guidelines from Appendix 8 with the more stringent ICPG adjudication guidelines)

Contrast the current adjudicative guidelines from ICPG 704.2 with the former ones from DoD 5200.02-R:
Note that the current guidelines exclude those with "sympathy for" while the former ones required "involvement in". She could post all she wanted on social media with the prior guidelines...as long as she didn't actually crack heads, she was eligible. Under the current guidelines, if she even sympathizes with these groups, she would no longer be eligible for access.
Hopefully as clearances are re-adjudicated as a result of the periodic re-investigation requirement, they'll be able to weed out a whole lot of hard core leftists within the government (and specifically within the IC).

I read last night that she was an Arabic translator when she served in the Air Force. That experience probably opened the door for her.
Winner’s mother, Billie Winner-Davis, told The Daily Beast even after the DOJ announcement that her family still was not sure why Winner had been arrested. “I don’t know what they’re alleging,” she said, asking for specifics from the DOJ’s press release. “What do you know?” Winner-Davis said the allegations against her daughter were vague when they spoke Sunday.

Is it true she faces 10 years? Considering most offenders can do as little as 1/3 of their time, given good conduct, etc, how is a 10 yr sentence a deterrent?
