Bill Cosby’s Desperation Plea Deal Nixed Hours Before Trial (DA wants 'significant jail time')

Just hours before his trial was set to begin, a desperate Bill Cosby sought an eleventh hour plea deal, RadarOnline.com can exclusively reveal.

According to insiders, the disgraced comic begged for a deal that would include no admission of guilt.

Meanwhile, prosecutors want the 79-year-old to face the music.

A source inside the Montgomery County District Attorney’s office said D.A. Kevin Steele demanded “significant” jail time, a large fine and community service.

“Bill Cosby wants Steele to agree to a deal in which an announcement would be made basically saying that the prosecution couldn’t prove its case and that the defense had nothing to prove so it’s a win for him,” the insider said.

“He’s desperate, his defense is desperate because [what he’s accused of is] indefensible,” the source continued. “It should be mentioned that they [the defense] came to [prosecutors] because the day of reckoning has arrived and maybe he’s opened his eyes and realized that he’s about to go to prison maybe for the rest of his life.”

Cosby, who turns 80 next month, faces 10 years in prison if convicted of the three counts of sexual assault which he’s accused of. Those charges include the drugging and raping former Temple University athlete Andrea Constand.

Dozens of women have come forward claiming they were drugged and raped by the comedian once known as America’s Dad.

“They haven’t discussed anything feasible for Bill Cosby,” a source connected to the comedian said of the plea negotiations. “It’s a witch hunt and they are making sure to try and bury him. It’s unfortunate.”

This isn’t the first time the alleged serial rapist has sought a deal with prosecutors.

After a judge ruled to admit Cosby’s shocking civil deposition, in which he cops to plying women with Quaaludes before having sex with them while their zonked out, as evidence, the comedian sought a deal.

In the bombshell 2006 deposition, Cosby admitted to giving Constand Quaaludes.

“When you got the Quaaludes, was it in your mind that you were going to use these Quaaludes for young women that you wanted to have sex with?” Constand’s former lawyer Dolores Troiani, asked Cosby during that deposition.

“Yes,” Cosby answered.

Later in the deposition, the comic described putting his hands down Constand’s pants: “I don’t hear her say anything, anything. And I don’t feel her say anything. And so, I continue and I go into the area that is somewhere between permission and rejection. I am not stopped.”

Cosby, perhaps sensing his possible doom, is now seeking a deal for leniency.

“He and his family are convinced this trial will end badly,” a source close to the comedian said.

In December, an insider told the New York Post that “Cosby and his family believes he’ll be eligible for a sentence of just probation. . .and remove the threat of him dying in prison.”

Now, Cosby has tried another Hail Mary by attempting to butter up hard-nosed prosecutor Steele, implying that a plea deal would give the DA a major victory over a celebrity.

Cosby also tried to “play the sympathy card,” the prosecution source said.

“They want Steele to take into consideration that he’s old and he’s blind. But, he had to be reminded that this is the Justice System and the Justice System doesn’t play favors because of someone’s celebrity or because they’ve grown a bit old. With age, sometimes comes health problems.”

I suspect “Do you know who I am?” doesn’t fly well with federal prosecutors.

Works like a charm if your last name is Clinton.

He wasn’t doing it to not get caught to my understanding, it was a kink. Supposedly at least some of the women were his actual mistresses he would have sex with normally, but then he would eventually slip them drugs unknowingly. Maybe the drug thing started with trying not to get caught and he found he liked it.

It sounds like the alleged victim continued benefiting from her relationship with Cosby long after the incident; sounds like blackmail. If someone blackmails a criminal, they are an accessory after the fact — even if they were the victim. If he goes down, she should go down. If she does not go down, he should not go down.

They’re doing that by putting him in jail. That’s fair.

It looks to me like he may easily skate

Hey Doc, you did read the posted part of the article where it said he admitted in deposition that he gave the woman Quaaludes with the intention of having sex with her? I sure hope you aren't a real doctor.

So, he knocks the women out, so they can't really say what happened. That's a pretty demented way to have sex.

Or, he was so inept at performing, he didn't want the women to spread the word he sucked in bed.

The Democrats threw Cosby under the bus because he noted that blacks aren’t doing their part to better themselves.

I look for a Solomon-like outcome.

Cosby is aged and blind.

My bet is that he will go to trial and be found guilty.

The judge will fine him plenty....then sentence him to permanent house arrest with an ankle bracelet in case he has to go to medical appointments, the hospital or whatever.

The legal system doesn't want a sick old blind guy like him in a prison cell or jail-yard environment.....it's too risky for both sides.

He will spend the rest of his days under house arrest thinking about the good old days as the genial and upright head of the Huxtable family.

And this way, the taxpayers won't have to support him for years on end.

The "deposition" that is referred to was given in a civil case brought by the accuser and was settled for an "undisclosed" amount.

"Cosby gave extraordinary testimony in 2005 and 2006 during a civil lawsuit filed against him by Constand. (The case was eventually settled for an undisclosed amount.) The Associated Press filed a lawsuit in late 2014 to unseal the testimony and details from the full deposition were later reported by media outlets, including The New York Times and The Washington Post. Over the course of four days of questioning, Cosby admitted to acquiring Qualuudes, a powerful sedative, to give to women with whom he wanted to have sex."

The DA promised to prosecute Cosby if he won election (I think 2015).

The previous DA verbally told Cosby's then attorney (deceased) that there was not enough to charge him criminally and the deposition would remain sealed.

Convoluted case - not exactly as the media would have you believe.

My personal take on this is the women wanted something from Cosby - money, further career, etc., and were not unwilling "victims". He was well known at Temple (gave the commencement address every year) and it was a well known fact that he was married.
