"On May 31 the worlds first commercial carbon dioxide capture-plant was opened in Hinwil, Switzerland.
Its designed and operated by a Swiss company called Climeworks, and uses a modular design that can be scaled up over time.
The company says that the plant will remove 900 tons of carbon dioxide from the atmosphere every year by passing it through a special filter that isolates carbon dioxide molecules...
In fact, it only takes an average of 98 trees to remove 1 ton of carbon dioxide from the atmosphere per year.
That means that this plant is worth only 88,200 trees per year (never mind the fabrication costs for all the parts, which probably have an enormous carbon footprint).
Although we cant compare the costs because Climeworks doesnt state the cost of their plant on their websiteprobably because its egregiously high, we do know the cost of planting trees.
You can sponsor charities to plant trees for you at a grand total of 20 cents per tree.
That means that only $17,640 worth of trees could do the work of the multi-million dollar Hinwil carbon-capture plant."

The problem with those Atmosphere Processers is that blow up real good if you start shooting off rounds with your M41A Pulse Rifle while inside one.
They’re probably pumping it into a river at night.
Perhaps the Swiss can sponsor my plan to plant a few thousand acres of sandalwood trees in the tropics.
They get the benefit of being able to claim the CO2 absorption benefits and I get to harvest the trees in 15 to 18 years and make an insane amount of money from the trees’ oils and other by-products. Where can I sign up for the sponsorship?
This proves a point, if you are idiot enough to swallow the hoax of CO2 based Global Warming, you will go to any lengths to avoid the embarrassment of admitting that you have been fooled. If we survive this idiotic psychosis of “Chicken Little-ism” we can thank Donald Trump.
In this case, actually, yes . Plus they sell to a nearby greenhouse growing tomatoes.
Imagine what this could do for pencil manufacturing though.
No so. This is a commercial enterprise selling the captured CO2.
no = not
Sell it to greenhouses and soda bottlers.
This is a private commercial enterprise.
Of course, they're also looking forward to the day when someone will buy their plants to extract and sequester CO2 but for now it can pay for itself in certain circumstances.
Anti-oxygen is great - who wouldn’t rather have a buck or two then a breath of oxygen? We don’t need any stinkn’ carbon dioxide or oxygen! Maybe, if enough CO2 is captured and the amount of oxygen in the atmosphere is reduced by a similar amount, we can trigger an atmospheric cascade and solve the CO2 problem by switching over to the old methane system.
This plant must be utilizing retro turbo encabulator technology with marsal veins. Just a guess though!
At least 1/2 of the cost of that plant is profit for the builder.
See what this green thing is all about?
Just what are they capturing the CO2 for? Soda bottling?
.............

Don’t forget their Pot plants.
It’s not dummb when you own the sompany and have a government that will force every citizen in the world to buy your products. Who cares if it does anything or even works? It will make politicians “feel good” about saving the planet.
Next year they’ll build another plant to take care of that. At a modest price
What a useless waste of money. When the sun rises tomorrow I’ll look out across the valley and see millions of trees.
...you also don’t need to plug a tree into the electrical grid to power it. Trees are, ta-da, solar powered!!
