Rand Paul to CNN's Jake Tapper: Make Sure Your Viewers Know The Climate Models Have Been Wrong

Sen. Rand Paul debates CNN host Jake Tapper on the issue of climate change, and the president's decision to withdraw from the Paris climate accord.

Paul argued that scientists have been predicting disaster for decades, while Tapper disagreed, claiming about the predictions: "all of it has happened."

"You need to make sure that your viewers know that most of [climate scientists’] models has been wrong," Paul said. "They adjust it every year because they haven’t been good at predicting things."

"But obviously scientists have been predicting for years that the temperatures would go up, that glaciers would shrink, that sea ice would disappear, that oceans would rise, that the sea level would rise and there would be longer and more intense heat waves and all of that has happened, Senator," Tapper argued. "All of it has happened."

Paul describes what "a better climate deal" would look like:

RAND PAUL:

- Well first you wouldn't lose 6 million American jobs.

- One of the reasons President Trump was elected is he promised to defend American workers and American jobs. There are estimates that this agreement, which is unfair, and punishes America... that we would lose 6 and a half million jobs, while countries like India and Iran -- We would have to pay them to reduce their carbon emissions.

- I can't imagine a worse agreement than this thing for the American worker...

- [The 6.5 million jobs] are in the energy industry... because of excessive regulation.

- So if America has to reduce her Carbon footprint by 20%, but China doesn't have to reduce their at all, how could that possibly be fair? Who in their right minds would sign something that says China doesn't have to do anything.

Communitarianism can never lift people up from poverty. They can only bring the rest of us down.

Thank God that Donald J. Trump is the POTUS!

The Chinese use coal fired plants without any pollution control around Beijing. I have been there and I could not even breathe that filthy air.

India also has a lot of coal fired power plants! I have been there also and I am telling the truth when I say that u can barely breathe in the major cities.

BTW, the Chinese and Indians do not even care about their pollution as long as they produce the adequate power for their citizens.

President Trump is looking out for the U.S.A. first and foremost before he makes a decision. The decision to withdraw from the Climate Change Treaty is the correct decision and he hits another homerun in my book since it helps out all of our American businesses. End of story.

In this interview, Sen. Paul demolished the fake news networks and their mindless statements about discredited, faulty climate models that have massively overestimated future global temperatures. It’s obvious to any objective analyst that the current climate models that are widely used in government and academia have major flaws and need a serious overhaul or even complete replacement.

When you have fossil shells at 1400 feet it’s not from water being that high, it’s from the beds being tectonically uplifted.

That was a pretty good articulation of the points. Well done Rand.

temperatures would go up...

This is wrong, there has been a twenty year pause in the temperature increase, even though carbon dioxide in the atmosphere continues to increase. The temperature had increased recently due to El Nino, but is now settling back down.

that glaciers would shrink...

I don't know if glaciers are retreating or not, I think most are not. But if they are, so what? Not one living thing uses a glacier as a source of food or habitat, they are just big blank spaces on top of the Earth. If they melted, the valleys where they previously existed would be filled in with trees and animals, so that would be a win.

that sea ice would disappear...

We have the same amount of Artic sea ice as in 1940, and more sea ice around Antarctica.

that oceans would rise...

They would rise even if we did nothing. We are coming out of an ice age.

there would be longer and more intense heat waves ...

Longer and more intense heat waves were more common in the first half of the twentieth century than today. Hurricanes are down, tornadoes are down. The climate is changing, but what is happening is extreme hot and cold temperatures are becoming fewer. The climate is getting milder.

The Paris Agreement is nothing more than another Leftist-agenda scheme of redistribution of wealth away from America and global totalitarian government.

The Paris Agreement, as Agenda 21, is nothing more than another U.N./Leftist-agenda scheme of redistribution of wealth away from America and global totalitarian government.

The Left goes unarmed to a battle of wits.

The Right’s defense of freedom and constitutional republicanism always wins the debate against the Left’s defense of tyranny in the forum of ideas. That is why the Left hates open debate, free speech, and freedom in general.

The Left will never win in a free society. They must have oppression to force their agenda on others. However, they will lie and deceive to get others to unwittingly surrender their freedom until they put the final clamps down.

The Left looks for any and every excuse for totalitarian global government. “Sustainability” is one excuse they are using whether referring to “overpopulation”, earth’s “limited” resources, or “climate change” all of which are gargantuan deceptions. For example, one flight over any significant part of land makes it plain that probably 80-90% of the earth’s land is void of human population. But Hitler, the Left’s counsel in absentia, said that if you repeat a lie enough times, they’re likely to believe it.

We on the Right need to show ourselves smarter than these Leftist snakes. When it comes to earth’s resources or “climate change”, we don’t have to constantly point to circumstantial evidence to prove they’re wrong because once in a while what they say may actually appear right. We on the Right have to KNOW THE TRUTH and use the TRUTH which doesn’t change, more than fact which is changeable, to defeat the Leftist lies.

The truth is, God made the earth to be populated and filled with mankind and made the earth wealthy, rich, and sustainable to support mankind for eternity. In its current state, earth’s support of mankind is sustainable for countless millennia. There is also much evidence of resource regeneration in the earth as well. There is NO evidence of man-made climate change of any significance.

The battle is really a spiritual battle between freedom and faith in God (supported by mountains of evidence), versus totalitarianism and fear of “unsustainability” - Agenda 21 code word - (supported by little-to-no evidence, but a great deal of fear in some and a great lust for power in others). Faith versus fear - that’s the battle we’re in. May God give his people faith, wisdom, and knowledge now and in the years to come to defeat the Lying left. Amen.

They hate the word “communism” or “communitarianism” and why do they hate it?

How about “totalitarian dictatorship”. Wonder how they feel about that.

In a nutshell, thousands of them and general tectonic movement. Places like the Himalayas which are young and rising probably have marine strata over 10,000 feet.

"Keep telling it like it is, Rand!"

I really like Rand and supported him early on. I hope he keeps at it. I still think he'd make a good president.
