If this is true; I’m pissed. That southern border needs to be 100% secure or as close as possible and those attempting to cross must pay a price so heavy future jumpers won’t even think about it because they will be spending a year at a work farm for no pay.
I don’t care if agents with mini-guns shooting a thousand rounds a minute need to be set up at key locations to mow the crossers down.
Why are they still releasing people?
I know he seems to be honoring the “dreamer” thing, except where they get caught up with law enforcement. But the article doesn’t explain “why” they are releasing people who have been caught. Family ties? Obvious hardship to the families? Long residence here? Is there a formal or informal criteria for not immediately deporting?

Detention facilities are overcrowded, immigration courts are backlogged by years. Until new facilities are built and staffed it is not possible to hold and deport all those that need to be.
Illegals detained near the border, in the act of crossing can be deported immediately without a hearing. Illegals that have already had an immigration hearing and are under court ordered deportation can be deported immediately and they are being rounded up. Illegals that did not bother to appear for their hearing or renew legal status to be here are also deportable and being rounded up.
As for other illegals, the supporters of open borders are advising all of them to request a immigration hearing for the purpose of keeping immigration courts backlogged. Judges are being reassigned to hear those cases, and plans are to hire many more judges to handle those cases.
Previous administration closed detention centers and did not have enough judges, it was by design. President Trump is being fought every step of the way on border issues and has to turn the system around in order to effectively deal with illegal immigration. President Trump is being fought every step of the way by the dims and RINOS. The dims and RINOs have made this their hill to fight on.
