The Democrat-controlled Illinois House approved protections for illegal immigrants, made voter registration automatic for state residents, and passed more severe punishments for gun crimes Tuesday, the Chicago Tribune reports.
Senate President and Democrat John Cullerton, who supported the immigration bill in the Senate, said it will provide stability for Illinois estimated half-million illegal immigrants by preventing state and local law enforcement from arresting them. Democratic legislators admit the measure is a direct response to President Donald Trumps immigration crackdown, which they say has caused Illinois communities to live in fear.

Kelleys campaign announcement was bizarre
It sounds like hes criticizing Rauner for not compromising with democrats, WTF?
“The fact is it perfectly sums up the Rauner mentality. The problem is when someone believes they are in the trench, that affects everything they do and the people around them. If Rauner wants to live his life in a trench, that’s O.K. But now he’s brought the Republican party into the trench with him.
Keep calling Rauner’s offices. The call staff seems tired and somewhat frustrated,** so perhaps we are making progress ;)

**Very rude when I asked WHY is he going to sign it...How dare I ask such an outlandish question!!!
So get this, friggin Rhode Island just passed this too. Same time. Unanimous through the RI House.
Did Soros send out a memo or something?

Wow! Good find!!! Disturbing tho :(
Seems they are trying to make moves that will help ensure Dem victories in 2020 (in IL, the changes don’t go into effect until 2019).
I wish Trump had done the following in the first few months:
1. Put in solid Supreme Court Justice who would back voter ID (not sure why Supreme Court refused to hear the North Carolina Voter ID bill~~is that up to Roberts, or does the Court vote on what they wish to address?).
2. Encourage passage of National Voter ID laws.
Nothing would surprise me in regards to both Soros’ and Illinois Politicians’ corruption.
Keeping the House in 2018 is going to be paramount!
“Keeping the House in 2018 is going to be paramount!”
Absolutely, but IL and RI will have very little say in whether the GOP keeps the House next year. Both of RI’s Representatives are RATs, and in IL there are no GOP Representatives so vulnerable that registering everyone to vote could be decisive (where it could have more of an effect is in beating back potential GOP pickup opportunities in the blue-collar IL-17 and in the Chicago suburbs and exurbs).
Well I mean keeping the House in 2018 is paramount in sense of National politics..
Not sure if any of the GOP are vulnerable or not...The state went to Clinton so I would think that any GOP in districts that voted overwhelmingly for Clinton might be vulnerable...
Interestingly, one of the amendments to the bill that is allowing for automatic voter registration is that it not be implemented until 2019...just in time for the Presidential election.
I am in the process of plotting my escape from Illinois :(
My wife, Nicole, is a pastor, and she got a job offer from a Las Vegas church. We got here on April 2. I like the weather, but I’m still looking for a job. Las Vegas TV stations don’t mention how many people were shot, each weekend, since the weekend totals are usually about 2.
When Chris Lauzen was a state senator, he told me that, in 2003, when the legislature passed a law that allows illegal aliens to attend state universities and pay in-state tuition, he was the only senator who voted against it. When the legislature passed the state dream act, some Republicans voted no, but Senators Bill Brady, Kirk Dillard, Dan Duffy, and Matt Murphy voted for it.
None of the Illinois republican congressmen are vulnerable, but two of the state’s Democrats are vulnerable. In the 8th District, Raja Krishnamoorthi got about 54%. In the 10th District, Brad Schneider got about 51%.
>> So get this, friggin Rhode Island just passed this too. Same time. Unanimous through the RI House <<
Ain't it great when we have state governments "stand up to federal authority" and "reclaim their power"? If only these guys could pick out our Senators for us. < /sarcasm>
It’s going to take GOD’S intervention to get our state and nation back.
