President Trump has made his decision to withdraw from the Paris climate accord, according to two sources with direct knowledge of the decision. Details on how the withdrawal will be executed are being worked out by a small team including EPA Administrator Scott Pruitt. They're deciding on whether to initiate a full, formal withdrawal which could take 3 years or exit the underlying United Nations climate change treaty, which would be faster but more extreme.
Why this matters: Pulling out of Paris is the biggest thing Trump could do to unravel Obama's climate legacy. It sends a combative signal to the rest of the world that America doesn't prioritize climate change and threatens to unravel the ambition of the entire deal.
How it happened: A letter from 22 Republican Senators (including Mitch McConnell) that called for a clean exit had reinforced Trump's instincts to withdraw, and the president had been telling confidants over the past week that he was going to pull out.

Names of sources? ;-)
Faux Snooze just reported! Must be true!
To be considered the Best Republican President EVAR, TRUMP has to make Conservatives happy!
I’m sure that Macron and Merkel insulting Trump publicly didn’t help them any.
Quoting Kathy Griffin... “Trump pulls out”.
To me one of the biggest reasons to withdraw is that it was not ratified by Congress. Anything that Obama did on a scale like this needs to be torpedoed. Congress and the president can then put together something if they want to that hits some of the good points of the “Paris accord” or whatever it is.
How can we ecit a treaty if the US Senate never ratified one?
Go Trump, The man should lay out clearly and specifically all,the damage this program would do to America- and the world. Rjnse lather repeat.
Not to mention Francis the talking pope and beimg “ warned” by that UN pipsqueak
Good!
I’m tired of Russia.
Lead story on CBS radio a few minutes ago...
The Paris Climate Deal is nothing more than a massive transfer of hundreds of billions of dollars (overwhelmingly from the United States) to poor countries. It has nothing to do with saving the planet, other than the fake scare of "climate change" was a useful tool to get the public to buy into it.
Out of all the "bad deals" the U.S. has signed on to, this was probably the worst.
>> all the damage this program would do/has done...to America
The Paris agreement is non-binding and voluntary. It had to be, to avoid being deemed a treaty which had to pass through Congress. How does it take 3 years to exist a non-binding, voluntary agreement?
I don’t care how he does it, just DO IT. My nails are down to the quick already. This is the one enormous thing that he personally can do which might prompt a return to sanity. It would certainly save America’s bacon in terms of energy costs and competitiveness and, hopefully, will set a precedent for others, such as our idiotic PM in Australia (although the best thing to be hoped forin his case is his ouster as he’s a true believer - or a globalist).
Hope it’s a bit of non-fake-news....
Perhaps you can help me understand about Merkel. When I first read hear about her attacks, I called her bad names.
But then, I actually heard some of her words. It seems she was actually acknowledging that there was big change underway and Germany must adjust by becoming more self reliant.
I would think that Trump’s objective was to nudge the Euros to be more self reliant.
In effect it seems that Trump’s gambit eas successful.
Cue the Liberal Apocalypse Chorus ...
It would be nice. It would be even better if on the same day he ordered the withdrawal of some US military units from Germany.
too soon to celebrate, but celebrations are in order if this is confirmed.
