The House intelligence committee has subpoenaed President Donald Trump’s personal attorney, Michael Cohen, as part of its ongoing investigation into Russia’s election meddling and contacts with the Trump campaign, according to a congressional aide.
The aide spoke on condition of anonymity in order to discuss internal committee matters.
Cohen, a longtime attorney for the Trump Organization, remains a personal lawyer for Trump. He served as a cable television surrogate for the Republican during the presidential campaign.
The subpoena for Cohen comes as the congressional investigations into ties between the Trump campaign and Russia advance beyond formal requests for information from Trump associates. The president’s first national security adviser, Michael Flynn, has also received subpoenas from the Senate panel regarding his Russian contacts and his business records. The House intelligence committee has also subpoenaed Flynn, the congressional aide said.
“I declined the invitation to participate as the request was poorly phrased, overly broad and not capable of being answered,” Cohen told The Associated Press. “I find it irresponsible and improper that the request sent to me was leaked by those working on the committee.”
Cohen told ABC News Tuesday that he had been asked by both the House and Senate intelligence committees to provide information and testimony about contacts he had with Russian officials.

Other than that, a subpoena is supposed to be very specific about what it wants. Basically, a subpoena is a clever way to avoid the requirements for a warrant.
“...no Warrants shall issue, but upon probable cause, supported by Oath or affirmation, and particularly describing the place to be searched, and the persons or things to be seized...”
Why don’t they subpoena his kindergarten teacher too?

The A House Intelligence committee issued subpoenas to the Obama dogs Bo and Sunny, and a Dog Whisperer this afternoon.
Internationally renowned Dog Whisperer Cockles McMange will divine from the dogs, answers to critical questions seeking to find out what the dogs knew, and when did they know it?
This is a free country, but when it comes to Trump, Congress wants to set limits to exactly how much freedom he has access to. "These dogs are integral...", to their investigation of whether he now has too much or not, according to the new Speaker.
Earlier today it was revealed that House investigators are currently searching the White House to see if there are any rodents there that need to be called and at least debriefed.
Rumors are that most of those rodents left and transferred to Capital Hill last year.
Lawyer-client privilege doesn’t mean a damn thing any more apparently.................

Yeah but look at the fallout he got when he just fired Comey, right away they were calling for his impeachment. I think it’s a huge knot he has to untangle but when he does, he’s going have them by the nuts. I think they are scared sh*tless by him, that they are corrupt as hell and are freaking out they may get busted which is why they are doing everything they can to destroy him, but I think what he’s going to do is give them a choice; Do what he says or go to jail and that will get Obamacare repealed, get the wall built etc etc
