This is one of my all-time favorite guitar songs by Ed Gerhard...perfect for a holiday morning. The story behind Gerard's "House of Guitars" CD is fascinating. The album was recorded using an assortment of cheap pawnshop-style guitars. Gerhard is known for his gorgeous tone, and uses these unusual textures for maximum musical impact. "Promised Land" epitomizes what this genius can do.

Could you change title to “Gerhard”? Lousy typing.

I love cheap old guitars! Although I have a ‘57 Strat, my favorite guitar is a KAY semi-solid body. It just kills! It’s a foot away from me right now.

I have an old Emperador classical that I got for $60 many years ago. It sounds better than almost any other guitar out there. If a guitar plays good and sounds good it doesn’t matter what it costs or what name is on it.
