German Foreign Minister Sigmar Gabriel unleashed a volley of criticism against US President Donald Trump, slamming his short-sighted policies that have weakened the West and hurt European interests.
The sharp words from Gabriel came after Trump concluded his first official tour abroad which took him to Saudi Arabia, Israel, Brussels and then Italy for a G7 summit.
They also followed Chancellor Angela Merkels warning on Sunday that the US and Britain may no longer be reliable partners.
Germanys exasperation was laid bare after the G7 summit which wrapped up on Saturday with the US refusing to sign up to upholding the 2015 Paris climate accord.
Days earlier, in Saudi Arabia, Trump had presided over the signing of the single largest US arms deal in American history, worth $110 billion over the next decade and including ships, tanks and anti-missile systems.
Gabriel said on Monday that anyone who accelerates climate change by weakening environmental protection, who sells more weapons in conflict zones and who does not want to politically resolve religious conflicts is putting peace in Europe at risk.

Hmmmm. Who is Herr Gabriel worried about possibly taking advantage of Europe’s weakness?
I feel fine.
Inside every German beats the heart of a pure Nazi......no exceptions
Hey EU. Want to weaken the West?
Allow millions of barbarians to flood into Europe.
Which is exactly what you have done.
He looks evil.
who cares what the Germans have to say ???
they weakened their own country by inviting in Islamic terrorists who hate them and want to rape, kill and steal everything they worked for...
Herr Gabriel, this is now about America’s interest, not yours.Too bad. If is does not benefit Europe, too bad. Reach back in your bag of tricks and adjust. Markets change and so do the nature of alliances.
Climate change? not so much.
Sumpf Kraut.
If the West has been weakened, who has been strengthened or emboldened?
This is Bambi’s legacy.
bears a striking resemblance to something barak o would say
Climate change is a great litmus test. If someone uses that in their argument, it immediately means their opinion has almost zero value.
Have YOUR actions endangered or threatened those of your citizens?
That should be one of Trump’s responses
Never been happier I chose Ford over a German maker a few year back. I have always respected German engineering, but I simply wont contribute anymore to enriching a future Islamic state in the heart of Europe. Its bad enough future American soldiers will likely have to fight there yet again. The German people have lost their collective minds once again, as they did in 1933. But this time they will disappear as a people for good. The importation of 2 million Islamic savages cannot be undone.
And the Washington Post declared the trip a “disaster.” Probably for those who oppose the U.S. We have nursed the Euro Weenies for 72 years; time they got their business together and dealt with the important things in life.
I hear there are 7 million migrants at the border and ready to crossover into the EU as soon as Merkel is reelected ,Hmmm, who’s weak
Europe First is over honey.
Get used to it.
Europe will be forged in crises and will be the sum of the solutions adopted for those crises.Nothing that has happened in the EU is a good-intentioned foolish act gone horribly wrong. It is highly deliberate.
