Fox News host Sean Hannity has come under fire in recent days for spreading conspiracies about the death of Seth Rich, a former Democratic National Committee staffer. However, on Wednesday, he got some support from a surprising source: Oakland Raiders head coach Jack Del Rio.
After Hannity sent out a tweet saying his "heart is not troubled in the least" by a report that Fox News staffers are "embarrassed" by his crusade, Del Rio defended Hannity for what the coach described as asking "legitimate questions" (via Deadspin).
"Is it still possible to have legitimate questions asked and answered without venomous attacks based on political preferences?" Del Rio wrote on Twitter.
Rich's death has become a voracious talking point for many in the conservative media over the past month as unsubstantiated reports said he had been in contact with WikiLeaks and that he may have been the source of the DNC email leaks during the election, not Russia. Some outlets have implied that the DNC played a role in orchestrating Rich's death.
The conspiracies gained even more steam when a private investigator for Rich's family repeated something he says he had heard from a Fox News reporter - that there was evidence that proved there had been contact between Rich and WikiLeaks. A local Fox outlet then ran a story based on the investigator's comments, and Fox News followed with its own story that it later retracted.
The investigator also suggested that the Metropolitan Police Department tried to cover up evidence. The police department has denied those allegations.
Hannity called his critics "the biggest phony hypocrites in the world." However, he later said he would stop discussing the story "at this time."

Yep, it’s going to be really funny when the Chargers play a “Home Game” against the Raiders.
“brought the Raiders back, unfortunately for Broncos fans”
It’s kali-fornia. He’ll be fired before the start of the NFL season.
When the Chargers played the Raiders in San Diego it already was like a Raider home game. It will be the same only more so in LA.
“Hell be fired before the start of the NFL season”
I don’t think so... Del Rio is one of the hottest and smartest coaches in the NFL...he’s a players coach, but he knows how to win and he is building a Super Bowl winning team.
They’ll make the playoffs this year again, but with a healthy Carr at QB, they make a run this year.
I’ve liked Jack since his playing days at SC. Saw him play way back in the day. I have no idea what his political leanings are.
I think Sean is correct.
Keep chopping.
Sep 2, 2016 - A laptop containing a copy, or archive, of the emails on Hillary Clintons private server was apparently lostin the postal mailaccording to an FBI report released Friday. Along with it, a thumb drive that also contained an archive of Clintons emails has been lost and is not in the FBIs possession.
The missing laptop and thumb drive raise a new possibility that Clintons emails could have been obtained by people for whom they werent intended.
The archives on the laptop and thumbdrive were constructed by Clinton aides in 2013, using a convoluted process, before her emails were turned over to State Department officials and later scrubbed to determine which ones had classified information and should either be withheld from public view or could be released with redactions. The archive of messages would contain none of those safeguards, potentially exposing classified information if it were ever opened and its contents read.
Heck, The Raiders have a good team.
I felt bad about that injury last year.
Del Rio had better avoid boating trips in the Oakland Estuary...
If you were ever a Charger fan, you could never like the Raiders.
Jack Del Rio. Was he or was he not a scab?
(This happened just two hours before Seth Richs death and 10 minutes from the murder scene by car.)

Coach Del Rio is a former Saint so he’s always been OK in my book.
Nah - Just like the coach.
I liked him before.
He was once head coach for the Jags....................
