When Melania Trump recited The Lord's Prayer before a Melbourne, Florida presidential rally in February, the Internet went hog wild.
Now we know one reason why the first lady began with 'Let us pray' and 'Our Father who art in heaven' when she introduced the president that evening: She's a practicing Roman Catholic.
Her spokeswoman Stephanie Grisham confirmed that to DailyMail.com on Wednesday, hours after Pope Francis blessed a rosary for her at the Vatican.
The last Catholics to live in the White House were John F. Kennedy and his wife Jackie. Melania and her son Barron will move to 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue over the summer.
Mrs. Trump did more than just show up for a Papal audience.
She spent time in prayer at the Vatican-affiliated Bambino Gesù (Baby Jesus) Hospital, and laid flowers at the feet of a statue of the Madonna.

True. My religious roots eastern US are Mennonite, Quaker, Puritan, Salvation Army, Methodist with some Baptist thrown in. One line of my Michigan roots go back to when the state qmwas Quebec and through them to France. Definitely Catholic only two generations back in that line. Marriages and baptisms in cathedral in Montreal.
My family has been in Michigan 500+ years.
Are you suggesting I trust your own personal interpretations. Are you God?
No, I am not God. But He gives us His word and we can understand it.

ok, I get that you are not God but who exactly is included in this "us" and "we" you are talking about and how do you know He gives His Word that can be understood as He intends it?
Christ = Christianity = Religion. Christ started a very visible church, with a structure, a leader of the church. It had bishops, it had deacons, it had elders. He started the Catholic Church. The word means universal. You can argue about it till the cows come home, but it’s fact.
I’ve did the research. It’s there if you want to find it. When Melanie’s father felt it was safe for his real faith to come out of the shadows, his daughter was baptized as a Catholic. She was 17 years old.
Yes, Karl Marx.
Seamus’s favorite.
Johnny Carson described Emo Philips as "the best joke writer ever."
>> What's the Bible verse in God's Holy Word that specifically says that? <<
It's right next to the bible version that specifically mentions 'sola scriptura' ;-)

So what you’re telling me, is that there isn’t one.
I don't mean to give any offense. I am reflecting what other apparently misinformed Catholics have opined on the topic. Although I'm not Catholic, I lived in a close-knit Italian-American Catholic community for many years.
