Trump should have given a copy of the “95 Theses” in exchange.

Watching the early news, the reporter said that you would know by the gift if the pope was pleased with the visit. If it went well, Trump would receive a copy of the pope’s writing. Seems to me that this is a good sign for Trump, not shade.

President Trump should have told the Pope that he already read everything he needs to know about climate change in the Bible.

Shows how classy the Pope and his entourage of fools are .... they get a 1st edition and he gets a load of crap from a pack of fools.

“a gift Pope Francis gave to President Donald Trump a copy of the popes 2015 encyclical on climate change.”
Burn it. Scatter the ashes over the EPA headquarters. Tell the pope if he wants to give any further gifts, make them Bibles or something else that might be useful.

Do these people think the pope is an expert on climate and that he wrote the encyclical by himself?

Ranks right up there with Obama giving Queen Elizabeth a copy of his speeches. What a self-important boor!

After Trump accepted the Pope’s “gift”, he should have answered the Pope’s gesture with, “Thank you very much, but, I’m already changing the ‘climate’ in Washington and the rest of the world, as I’m sure YOU have noticed”.

Thanks for posting that. Since it’s a tradition then it’s appropriate.
At first it reminded me of Obama giving his speeches as a gift.

I love POTUS all the more for his gracious behavior when the pope was so negative and when the pope gave him that ridiculous gift. Pope Francis may have smiled near the end of the visit, but his distasteful expression at the beginning is forever photographed for history.
