MSNBC finally overtook Fox News Channel and left CNN in the dust.
Officials at the once third place cable news network were crowing Monday about winning last weeks primetime ratings race for the first time.
Led by Rachel Maddow, the left-skewing primetime schedule beat Foxs revamped Bill OReilly-less lineup for the first time, a humiliating loss for Tucker Carlson, The Five and Sean Hannity, according to the latest Nielsen numbers.
For the week, Monday through Friday when people are paying the most attention to the big name TV hosts who go head-to-head on cable news, MSNBC won across the board, with total viewers and in what TV industry people call the news demographic: viewers between the ages of 25 to 54 years old.

For the week of May 15, MSNBC averaged about 2.44 million viewers. Right-leaning Fox drew 2.4 million and CNN trailed with 1.6 million.
Fox, which has sat atop the ratings for more than 15 years, is also losing ground to both of its rivals when it comes to the news demo.

swirling the drain. Being beat by Maddow? And Chrissy Mattews? Pathetic.
It’s because they want to become more like cnn, abc, etc. It loses their core audience and why would libtards watch them when they have msnbc?
That’s because the majority of us have quit watching and listening to the sorry Fox network. Only the commies are watching the commie networks.
Shannity just lost Cars.com as an advertiser.
Bill O’Reille is smiling
Fox is emulating abc 30 yrs ago. Morning BBQ’s in NY don’t cut it. It’s no wonder folks are leaving. I have. There is not much worth looking at on the tube.
DECENT people aka...CONSERVATIVES are tuning out FOX and they are NOT going to MSNBC....they are probably going to Pickers or HGTV!!
FR people should publicize any company dropping Hannity. We can all play the game!
Did the Fox viewers turn to MSNBC or did they simply stop watching? Did the other networks experience an increase in viewership?
People don't even know what channel MSNBC is on
That is the $100,000 question. I stopped watching because I cannot stand Shepard Smith. I still tune in to Tucker and Hannity. But that is about it!
The Murdoch boys’ chickens are coming home to roost.
Dagen McDowell’s giant head should sink FBN below CNBC any day now.
When Fox decided to become just another lefty network, they were destined to sink. They are now fighting for their share in a very crowded field.
Someone who likes money should start a network that captures the population Fox purposefully spurned.
Rush, Hannity, Levin, Savage et al reach 50 TIMES as many people every single day.
Why should we care what these bozo’s say or do when they only reach 600,000 people and Rush reaches 30 millions each day?
AND WHY DO THEY SET THE AGENDA??
LIBERALS do. I work with a herd of them and all they can talk about is Rachel Maddow and Lawrence O’Donnell, YUCK.
Hannity comes on too late for the East Coast audience. Fox needs to fix that, and move him into the 7 or 8 pm slot. (On the West Coast, he comes on at 7.) They should also demote McCallum and Watters, and bring in Laura Ingraham and Mark Steyn, who are both intelligent, articulate and - especially Steyn - funny.
