Melania had vented over the past few weeks that the press team was not proactive in defending her husband and that Spicer was not doing a good job, a source told Politico.
The leaks bother her, the source said. She believes a lot of people are more interested in serving themselves than him.

I like Sean, but it’s kinda like any one guy vs the entire press pool will always get overwhelmed, especially having to go into that shark tank day after day after day.
I say to make them submit their questions in writing.
A source, the source, close to the administration, they say, etc.
Checks out as made up news.
This unnamed “source” has been a busy bee. The source of a million quotes and not a single fact.
Is this The Source (Cole) from Charmed? He was/is a demon — that makes sense.
A source?
An anonymous source?
Better source than anything out of NYC.
Seriously fake
I would agree with her on the leaks issue. They absolutely need to stop those leakers, unless the President is purposefully leaking, which I’ve read is a theory. Kind of a “John Miller” situation from Trumps past.
This might be something the First Lady might have said in passing. She may not understand what that press pool is like so blaming Spicer is just the obvious target if any of this is true. I can see where it might have a kernel of truth.
I agree it’s time to change how things are done. Reduce press briefings down to 2-3 times a week; maybe just Tuesday and Thursday. Accept questions in writing and also rotate who gets to ask the questions. Maybe it would reduce the gossip or maybe it would increase it.
One thing for sure though; this gossip aka leaks needs to stop. Our capital is not the place for that nonsense.
I like Spicer but I am not married to President Trump.
The leaks are not Spicer’s problem. Other people are leaking. How is he supposed to know who it is?
I think he gets a bad rap.
He’s been handling the press events just fine IMO.
Someone has it in for Sean. We’ve seen that for months.
Melania is the least of his problems, and I think it’s a stretch to think she’s involved here.
She’s not even in the White House.
DJT has himself a Nancy
Just don’t give Spencer’s job to Kimberly Guilfoyle because she would not be up to it.
I don’t follow Spicer’s remarks much, but he has a nearly impossible task with the hostile Mediascum.
Press briefings should be weekly not daily, with occasional special briefings when breaking news warrants. The idea that a presidential spokesperson should be bombarded with hostile questions “live” every day is a ridiculous one. It’s nothing but vicious libs trying for “gotcha” moments whether or not their biased questions are worth a damn. Of course it doesn’t work that way for the Democrap regimes which get mainly puffball questions from MSM scumbags.
But for any Republican administration to allow this kind of daily assault is just foolish. President Trump can take hold of this “tradition” and shake it up for the better.
Just don’t give Spicer’s job to Kimberly Guilfoyle because I doubt that she is up to it.
Weekly press briefings would be quite sufficient, except when special events warrant more.
The Mediascum are addicted to pursuing left-wing “gotcha” churnalism. They must be introduced to honesty, discipline, and fairness.
It is an easy assumption that the press & communications department at the White House is not up to the daily mortal battle currently being allowed in the Q&A session.
If they do not have *enough* access to the president, nothing can change. They are stuck out there with literally no armor.
TRUMP is a different kind of bird and the traditional press conference is not suited to his presidency. He moves fast and constantly, and that fact is the pivot point. The spokesters can not keep up. Neither can the media.
These media brats are show boating to pad their resume, move up the pay scale and jump their career ladder, while enjoying the camera. That has to be stopped dead. Tables need to be turned, and will be.
President Trump can take hold of this tradition and shake it up for the better.

He’s already talked about doing so. I get the feeling that he’s going to be giving the press a serious shake-up soon.
“Sources”
Spicer is a nice guy but not a natural. He’s too defensive. Every time I hear him say, “I respectfully disagree,” I wish someone would slap him around. He needs to wake up and get on offense. Bring in Laura Ingraham or someone like her. Even Huckabee’s daughter is running rings around old Spicey.
