(Middletown, OH) -- Middletown Police say a five-year-old saved his parents from an overdose at their home.
The Middletown boy found Lee Johnson and Chelsie Marshall lying unconscious on the floor in their bathroom around 5:30 a.m. Thursday.
Police say he then ran barefoot from the home in the 1900 block of Hill Avenue to his grandfather's house calling for help.
Middletown Police Chief Rodney Muterspaw said the boys quick thinking saved not only his parents lives but a baby girl as well. Police say when they entered the home they found a three month old baby strapped in the car seat.
Both Johnson and Marshall, were revived with Narcan and now face heroin and child endangerment charges. it took k 14 hits of Narcan for officers to revive Marshall.
Marshall and Johnson face two charges of endangering children and one count of disorderly conduct with heroin. Both Johnson and Marshall are both being held on $50,000 cash bond each.
Sadly, it sounds like maybe the kid was used to it.
Kids of hardcore drug addicts usually are used to it. I know if 12 year old whose mother OD’d and he had to put her in the car and drive her to the hospital. He also would run to the window if he heard a siren to make sure it wasn’t coming to their house. Drug addicts put such a burden on their kids. Its very sad.
” it took k 14 hits of Narcan “
Who wrote this story another drug addict ?
White trash posing for their class yearbook pictures.
Heroin and opiates are ravaging rural America. Time for a purge of all hard drug pushers.
If the cops can't control it, vigilante action seems appropriate if people want to clean up their communities.
They tell me it’s a victimless crime ...
Drove the car to the hospital....that is such a great skill the kid has learned at an early age. Maybe he can do CPR class and the family can buy its own ambulance
I don’t know whether to praise the kid or to condemn him for burdening society with his “parents”.
Yes, exactly. . That poor child. What has he see in his young life?
Of course, some idiot social worker will have him and his sister back with their scum parents in no time.
Prayers for these children.
Probably....It’s a radio station newsroom. All the papers are owned by USA Today so there’s no using them.
They look pretty rough, don’t they?
They had their daughter strapped in a car seat.
How do you pass out ODd after driving and leaving your kid in a car seat?
Bets on whether the kid knows how to shoot his parents up?
He just might know how.
“Time for a purge of all hard drug pushers.”
No objection. But the users need something a little tougher than a hug and an excuse.
He saved his and the baby’s lives. The parents are a lost cause. Hope grandma will be a better parent.
Grandma evidently is able to keep them alive into their 20’s from the looks of those 2.
It is.
Unless you count the kids, the family, the neighbors, the police, the life squad, the tax base, and their guardian angel pulling double duty.
Doesn’t affect anyone else at all.
Practice makes perfect.
You’re probably right.
