Trump Drops Bunker Buster on Comey and the Deep State
The MAerican Thinker ^ | 05/15/17 | Geoffrey P. Hunt

***SNIP***

To what end was Comey’s convenient and cynical equivocations? Mere warm-ups for his disgraceful tenure at the FBI.

Comey’s fitness report while heading the FBI is a compendium of incompetence, and dissembling, beyond his blockade-running interference for Hillary’s email felonies, and AG Loretta Lynch’s deliberately compromising encounter with Bill Clinton on the Phoenix airport tarmac:

**The FBI ignored the Tsarnaev brothers before the Boston Marathon bombing.
**The FBI ignored U.S. Army psychiatrist and jihadist Nidal Hasan before he murdered 31 people at Fort Hood.
**The FBI ignored the San Bernardino terrorist killers Farook and Malik; then in an unforced fiasco bullied Apple for a needless unlocking key to the killers’ IPhone.
**An FBI agent was actually following the Garland, Texas shooters without notifying local law enforcement that armed men were about to carry out a terrorist attack.
**The FBI ignored Orlando nightclub massacre terrorist Omar Mateen, while under intermittent surveillance, whose lies to the FBI were known by the FBI interrogators.
**The FBI has done zero investigation into who leaked classified info on Michael Flynn, nor the unmasking of more than a thousand private U.S. citizens, along with who spied on Trump and members of Congress.
**The FBI has demurred in investigating the Clinton Foundation

Overcoming his record in hardcore prosecutions of first-order crimes, Comey became an accomplished sifter of fly ash, alternating hiding behind investigation protocols when politically convenient, then asserting prosecutorial zeal when personally advantageous.

In a sane world no one, democrat or repulican, would have any problems whatsoever with Comey being handed his walking papers.

The man was a disgrace!

All this being the case (explanation) for Trump to exercise his Executive Power and fire Comey. So, then, why is there any forward movement on “Trump is mad.” as in Insane when this action was extremely sane.

I have seen no action by Trump as being insane except to delay firing people who should have been fired ASAP and keeping some people with him who should not be there when he was elected. (I am not interested in him keeping Ivanka or her husband both of whom are not very positive forces for Trump’s agenda.)

Trump keeps getting attacked by ‘our side’ for screwing up the firing of Comey - not the firing itself, but how Comey was fired.

Has ANYONE come up with a ‘better way’ for Trump to have fired Comey? All I can see he is the following:

1) He gave Comey a chance to be a good boy (months in office)...but the leaks never stopped.
2) He had a report assembled explaining why Comeny deserved to be fired - there is no requirement for that, but he did so anyway.
3) He waited until Comey twisted himself in a pretzel in public, in front of Congress.

I guess Trump could have fired Comey in his first day in office - but does ANYONE think the goons would have quieter in that case?

> The FBI ignored the Tsarnaev brothers

Except that's not really how it went down, was it?

Did they come up with a good explanation as to how a key witness (Ibragim Todashev) ended up dead in his own home at the hands of FBI agents with no witnesses, and then barring reporting of the autopsy?

We've not even scratched the surface of Comey's malfeasance, IMHO. A passport revocation is in order.

Comey was a bought off attorney with Clinton ties (brother).
He had no law enforcement experience what so ever.
Obama placed him in the position for a reason.

Comey and Lynch are fixers. They pretend to conduct investigations, inoculate their criminal friends with immunity deals, and bury evidence.

They should be prosecuted.

They were warned more than once by Russia. It was ignored because Obama was having hissy fits with Putin.

Trump missed one....The panty bomber. The father had notified the US Embassy more than once.

“not the firing itself, but how Comey was fired.”

I’m not sure why Trump didn’t use a nicer manner to fire Comey. Two possibilities come to mind: he had confirmation that Comey was a leaker, or he had confirmation that Comey lied to him, or both.

Well, yes. Comey should have been called into the White House, should have been given the president's reasons, and should have been asked to resign gracefully. Peremptorily firing someone when he is on the other side of the country is crummy. If you treat a subordinate that way, you will demoralize the rest of the staff. If you treat a bigfoot player that way -- such as, say, an FBI Director in the middle of very sensitive "stuff" (a technical term) -- you invite blowback.

Comey should have been replaced long ago. It should have been done calmly, after a senior level review of the assorted controversies into which the FBI has been drawn, with a reasoned statement that the politics have gotten so polarized that a fresh start is in order.

But no. The firing was done in the crudest possible way, just another grenade lobbed into an already chaotic scene. I expect that Republican Members of Congress are getting tired of going into the office each morning wondering what they are going to get blindsided with today. I expect Trump's cabinet members are feeling the same way.

It's been one unforced error after another, with everyone playing damage control. And it doesn't look like it's going to change.

The points regarding the Bureau’s handling of terrorist incidents really bother me, especially now that Bob Mueller has been appointed Special Counsel on this Russian bullshit. It was actually Mueller who started the Bureau down the road to the politically correct handling of Islam and Muslims, beginning with mandatory “Muslim sensitivity training”. I liked Mueller on a purely personal level, but don’t expect Mueller to follow any “uncomfortable” (for Democrats and Republican leaders) turns that the investigation might take.

All things considered, I think this was pretty gentle. Heck, I've seen Trump fire people right on TV -- totally blind-siding them. Just looking them right in the eye, jabbing his hand out and saying, "You're Fired!". So, really, Comey got off easy.

Ya know they make fun of the tin foil hat conspiracy kooks but you have to give them some creds, there is a lot of questionable mayhem going on out there
FBI bars Fla. from releasing Todashev autopsy
scalia, commerce secretary brown, seth rich, navy seal chanook osama bin ladin and yes 9-11 saudi’s.

Trey Gowdy said Comey had access to classified information that left him no alternative but to recommend no charges against Hillary:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bBGOY0nsviU&t=5m20s

Very strange. Obama knew of the server and going to trial could bring him down, so Comey couldn’t let that happen?

Or, intel showed loss of state secrets from Hillary’s server, to foreign hackers. So big, it would “bring down the government” if revealed at trial?

COMEY THE CRIMINAL CLOWN was fired exactly how he should have been.... Blindsided and unable to cleanse his desk or files.
I doubt Justice is finished with Comey, or Hillary, or Huma, or Cheryl, or Susan, or Brennan, or Clapper, or Lynch, or Holder....
ALL NEED A GOOD DOSE OF JUSTICE

After all we’ve seen unfold, it seems pretty clear that “conspiracy kooks” is just another word for people who are better informed than your average New York Times subscriber.
