RUSH: I told you yesterday to stop watching the media, that you are not getting an accurate picture. The medias not even doing what theyre doing (sigh) Well, its a bit of a stretch to say theyre not doing it for national consumption; they, of course, are. But it is really inside-the-Beltway here, because thats where power is in their minds and thats where any effective change they want will take place.
So the primary objective of the Drive-By Media is to flood the zone in the nations capital with this never-ending badgering of Trump out of control, White House in chaos, all of this stuff. The objective is to get rid of Donald Trump. But theres all kinds of news out there that, one, Indicates it isnt having a dramatic effect outside the Beltway, and that incredibly good things are happening as a result of Trumps presidency.
So I want to start on that note. I want to start on the positives, and by virtue of starting with the positives, we are out of necessity gonna be exposing the Drive-Bys as they are operating. Now, this first. I did not believe this when I saw it. I was in stunned amazement when I saw this. I was watching CNN, and I want to thank God for making that happen or Id have missed this. I normally dont watch CNN. Ive got it on here, but, I mean, Im not really watching it. Its just there in case something happens. Ive got Fox and CNN on here.
You know, rather than set this up, I just want you to listen to it. This is the infobabe Brooke Baldwin. Im sure her name recognition is skyrocketing nationwide because shes made so many appearances here recently. Shes on something like one on three in the afternoon on CNN. She had as her guest yesterday Chris Cillizza, our old buddy from the Washington Post who has reported on us fairly and in quite complimentary ways on occasion. So we have no animus here.
We have no prejudicial bias or any of that. (chuckles) Its just he left the Washington Post cause he wanted to go to TV. The big moneys in TV, in media. Well, outside of a couple, you know, radio shows. But the big money is in TV. So gravitated over there. Yesterday afternoon on the Newsroom program hosted by the infobabe Brooke Baldwin, shes talking with Cillizza about the TIME magazine interview that Trump gave and that was published on Thursday. Theyre discussing some of the observations in the article.
BALDWIN: Everyones talking about the two scoops of ice cream. Apparently a little nugget came out of this TIME magazine piece where apparently the president gets two scoops, you know, everybody around the table gets one. Uh, and no word if there were sprinkles on it.
CILLIZZA: Right. Well, the broader point here is that they were trying to make in the TIME article is the White House has adapted to Donald Trumps tastes. So when everyone else getting waters, he get a Diet Coke. (chortling) When everybody else gets one scoop of ice cream, he gets two!
RUSH: Folks, this is how I dont know what you call this, insane. I dont know if you say its rooted in hatred This story is about how if youre invited to dinner at the White House, Trump gets treated specially and you dont. He gets a Diet Coke; you get water. When it comes time for dessert, he gets two scoops of ice cream and you only get one, and this is supposed to illustrate what a thoughtless, selfish, mean guy Trump is, that he hoards everything, that he doesnt treat his guests well. He gets Diet Coke; you get water! He gets two scoops of ice cream; you get one. Youre not even asked if you want two scoops!
This was a serious news item in TIME magazine (the same place that told us boys and girls are born different), and it was judged to be so revealing and so indicative of the kind of mean guy Trump is that they talked about it on CNN yesterday. He gets two scoops, and you only get one! Does anybody remember ? Outside of Michelle Obamas ludicrous school menu, does anybody remember details of dining in the White House with the Obamas? Of course not. Theyre losing it, theyve lost it, and the evidence is abundant each and every day.
BREAK TRANSCRIPT
RUSH: Speaking of that CNN I dont know how you characterize this. Nitpick? To actually do a segment on how mean Trump is and how selfish Trump is because at dinner Trump gets two scoops of ice cream and his guests only get one? Can I share with you a counterview to this, and it has to do with manners and culture and a couple of other things?
When you are an accomplished host, there are a number of things that you know and do by virtue of decency, commonality, manners, and what have you. Also, when youre host and youre at your own place the White House you have your own staff. They know your preferences, and they provide them without you asking. So if Trump likes two scoops of ice cream, thats whats gonna appear. But one of the standard rules of hosting is that there are amounts and quantities provided in a Whats the word? Its not reasonable, but you just
You just assume what the mass desires would be, and you always have the option that if the guest wants two scoops, the guest can ask. If the guest wants two entrees, the guest can ask. If the guest wants a Diet Coke, the guest can ask. Theres no alcohol served in the White House cause Trump doesnt drink. Hes never drank. Hes never smoked. So theyre doing this nitpick here, Trump gets two scoops ice cream and his guests dont! What a meany! What a selfish
Hes not even aware, this guy so focused on himself! Have you heard the story about Nixon, what the media reported about Nixon in the White House? Ill bet you havent heard this. When Nixon had guests in the White House, Nixon did drink; Nixon drink a lot. Nixon had wine every night with dinner. When he had guests in the White House, he served them wine. But the mainstream media did a story and I dont know if this is true.
But the mainstream media did a story couple times that Nixon served his guests cheap, rotgut, over-the-counter red wine while he was served Bordeaux, most likely Chateau Margaux, that was wrapped in a towel so that his guests could not see what he was getting. No idea if its true, but it was reported. Its the kind of thing that the media reports thats designed to drive somebody crazy, which (make no mistake) theyre also trying to do that. They are trying to drive Trump crazy.
...And what he said yesterday is worth repeating ...(paraphrase) judge the event, not what is said about the event. Was the Comey firing due and proper? Answer the question and turn off the TV!
I hear that instead of the usual Two Scoops of Raisins in Post Raisin Bran, Trump gets Three Scoops.
I don’t watch the Clinton News Network, nor ABC, CBS, NBC, PMNBC
Rush is in error here.
There are plenty of us here who remember Waygu Beef @ $250/lb.
And The Wookie ordering lobster and champagne on the taxpayers.
And The Usurper's White Hut flying in pizza from Chicago.
Frankly, I don't care if The Donald eats a quart of ice cream every night
before bed, as long as he keeps chipping away at the Federal Monster.
Vanilla, Maxine...VANILLA!
KNOW THY ENEMY....(ancient Chinese general Sun Tzu in "The Art of War")
It's a GOOD THING that so many of us freepers watch CNN and PMSNBC so that we can note and report on what the enemy is doing. Even our military does surveillance behind enemy lines regularly.
Some of us can walk and chew gum at the same time...I flip over to the enemedia during commercials and flat-times on Fox....and I scribble notes.
Let me add that without a large number of us watching the Left-Wing cable lunatics and reporting on this forum on what they're up to, half the Trump threads here would be flat, also, LOL.

MAGA, Maxine.
Just heard on CNN that Trump may decide to take over the WH press conferences himself. He said that Spicer was a “nice guy”, but did not sound like Sean would remain permanent, by any stretch. Sarah is worse, but it isn’t the fault of the press people that they are out of the loop on the president’s reactions, his fast moving agenda or in general what the hell is going on.
Does he even need Sean and Sarah? Probably not. His activist style is impossible for them to keep up with anyway and their attempt to appear competent is belied by the fact that they really don’t know what is going on in Trump’s head.
Trump had to unravel practically everything Sarah said on Morning Joe and all day on Tuesday. How embarrassing for her. Her tap dancing looked ridiculous, imho. She should not have gone out there with nothing to say but that “Rosenstein did it”. By evening she began to speak in a more informed way. The president under cut everything she said, as it was, in his NBC interview with Holt.
PS: We need a running media thread on the side bar for comments and coverage of various breaking reports. We need the dang White House Press Conference up, daily (especially during days of ensuing street fights between Trump and the press).
Used to be it seems to me that FR had nearly every political report posted right here, for one stop shopping. Now, we’ve got threads on BS and few hard news columns from Daily Caller, newsbusters, lucianne, Breitbart, etc., which causes time off FR to catch up on breaking columns.
Somebody’s gotta do it. That way the sycophants and cheer leaders are spared to continue their 24 hours of 3 PM tea and bisque. :D
It’s a common precaution when serving presidents and VP’s (Pence had a fruit plate) at a group dinner....to make the food look different so as to forestall contamination.
Meanwhile, Senator McCain had four servings of ice cream with frozen strawberries ....
Next time we get together, I want two scoops of ice cream.
