Time to put both the NY Times and CNN out of their misery.
They are both failing.
They both deserve the Alinsky treatment.
Media survives for two primary reasons:
1) People believe them; and,
2) People patronize their advertisers.
Shouldn’t be too hard to saw-off one of those legs.
NYT has consistently held that the best and the brightest, the intellectual technocrats, are smarter than the average person. Therefore, the technocrats, the enlightened scientists should make all the decisions for the rest of us.
Of course, the NYT is the arbiter of who is the best and the brightest.
Communism, Socialism, Corporatism are all philosophies consistent with the best and the brightest choosing who shall live and who shall dies for the greater good.
A Capitalism that allows uneducated neanderthals to make decisions about what to eat and what to wear, and where to go to school, and what to read, and what to do with society’s money, and especially what to believe could not possibly be better than decisions by the best and the brightest.

Drudge has been linking to far too many fake news Slimes stories, IMO.
The First Amendment guarantees Freedom of Speech; but it is NOT absolute. You may not cry “Fire” in a crowded theater and you may not yell “Bomb” in an airport. You also can be prosecuted for libel if you deliberately spread a lie about a person.

I wince every time I see references, known as postings here in FR, to so called “news sources”. Made by those in the propaganda business call “sources of record” to “storys” and they are just that. Stories laden with “spin” which goes unchallenged.
When these claims and assertions get offered the tendency is by many is to refute them. Instead of questioning why that assertion is being made. Which is to conceal their perversions and when doing so offering a counter accusation as to why it’s made. Construct a confrontation of the media assertion that gets repudiated. Otherwise if not done that political assertion gets validated.
For example take what’s going on with this Russia stuff. How about bringing up what deals were made by the Pervertacrats. Yes Pervertacrats. Bring up the urainium deal, Ted Kennedy perversions, those emails .
