Ivanka Trump to Head Review of U.S. Role in Paris Climate Change Agreement

Ivanka Trump has been tapped by her father, President Donald Trump, to review the United States’ commitment to the Paris Climate Change agreement, signed by former President Barack Obama as an executive agreement in 2015 without congressional approval, the Associated Press is reporting.

The agreement requires countries to cut greenhouse emissions on a country-by-country basis, with Obama committing the U.S. to reduce carbon emissions by at least 26 percent below 2005 levels by 2025.

The U.S. is expected to have a representative at the United Nations’ climate change meeting in Bonn, Germany, next week but Trump’s advisers — including daughter Ivanka and Environmental Protection Agency Administrator Scott Pruitt — are meeting on Tuesday in Washington to decide whether to stick with or withdraw from the deal.

Are you for real?

Ivanka is a leftist Manhattan socialite who considers “climate change” one of her pet issues. Get her out of there!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Sorry—I belatedly see you understand what a disaster she (and Jared too!) is in the Trump administration.

Bait and switch is not an attractive approach for handling one’s supporters after being elected to office.

Very clear that she is meeting with Pruitt and not acting as a lone ranger.

And her job is NOT nepotism....she did not get picked over someone else.

Trump’s Presidency - and his reputation for the rest of history - depends upon him being able to get the economy going again. That, in turn, depends on wiping away a lot of nonsensical environmental laws and regulations - most of which have a basis in the “global warming” theory (or conspiracy, as I call it). If you think for one minute that Trump is going to suddenly do a 180 on “climate change” and massive international agreements like the Paris treaty, just because Ivanka loves polar bears (or so some like you say), then I’ve got a bridge in Brooklyn that I’d like to sell to you, cheap.

C’mon, this is a hard-bitten businessman who does NOT like coming out 2nd best to ANYONE, EVER. He’s not about to lose to some pathetic Leftist in 2020 because his (admittedly beautiful) daughter might shed a tear or two for some animals...and I’d even question that she’d shed said tears - do you know her that well to be able to say definitively what her stance is on this issue? Because I sure don’t.

I agree....she’s a good listener and a good speaker. She will do EXACTLY what her father says.

The libs will conveniently forget they despise her if she’s telling her father to stay in the climate deal. They might even start buying her fashion line as a show of support.

“And her job is NOT nepotism....she did not get picked over someone else.”

Also, neither she nor her husband are getting paid anything. It is somewhat difficult to call this “nepotism” without there having been BOTH competition AND some pay for the position. Whatever this may be, nepotism ain’t it.

This is terrible. There is much to like about President Trump, but his huge blind spot about involving Jared and Ivanka in policy has the potential to be his downfall.

“Nepotism in the WH and in the Congress needs to be forbidden.”

It already is, here’s the law: https://www.law.cornell.edu/uscode/text/5/3110
So it’s illegal.

Can’t he get her some sinecure where she’s safely out of the way, maybe `White House liaison to the garment industry’ or something similar.
I didn’t vote for Trump’s lefty daughter to serve as a policy maker, mover and shaker.

Despite your snark at Ben, you are dead wrong about this. There are plenty of solid, trustworthy people who can do this job. Putting his totally unqualified daughter in charge of anything to do with policy, particularly foreign policy, is a massive mistake. This is not the family business. Plus a president needs people around him who can be "no" people once in awhile.

We have a Secretary of State for a reason. How do you think he must feel about daddy's little girl usurping part of his job? Plus, then candidate Trump promised his kids and in-laws would not be involved in the administration, yet it was the first promise he broke.
