he certainly was his own man when he made the decision for Supreme Court Justice.

She’s a total Manhattan socialite liberal—and climate change is only a “signature issue” for those who perceive it to be man-caused and in need of immediate globalist and authoritarian control.

There is no question as to what side she is on—and she shouldn’t be in the administration at all.

You are seriously uninformed.

I am always uninformed, not necessarily misinformed, different things entirely. I was only relating what happened and it did, I watched it. What he finally does seems to be a guessing game mostly good.

I don't believe the Senate defunded anything did they? The health care bill has a hard walk in the Senate no matter what the house decided.

Trump did announce that he would undo DACA because it was illegal now the dreamers have nothing to fear and the program goes on unabated, so Freepers have have reason to question what influence the liberals around him have on these decisions. Cold be a lot or none trying to figure that out is the challenge.

As far as health care goes he did say repeal, then repeal and replace then no one will die for lack of health care. Pre-existing would be covered 27 year olds would be covered, blah, blah, blah.

Since he doesn't clearly define his positions the media have a field day defining him for us, not good in my opinion. It is perception that produces votes not reality unless things are so bad that people will believe anything.

Some of the complainers here are anti-Trump some even #NeverTrumpers but most here are voicing criticism in the hopes that it will have a positive influence on the debate not to bring Trump down but to elevate him.

Try looking at what the liberal sites are saying and see if we are not right in wanting to change the debate. The next election will largely be determined by the cost of healthcare and progress on the wall and sanctuary cities.

This is one where I hope the Liberals get their wish. I hope they somehow find that she can’t be an advisor for XYZ reason. Hopefully she has Russian friends...

I don’t buy it either but if he caves on the Paris agreement I will have to rethink my position.

I would have to look at it too, considering all things on the table when I did.

He has defunded all such government efforts in the U.S., so I can’t see him thinking an international effort would be more acceptable.

Dealings with other nations are not single issue oriented. Due to linkage we may have to play along a bit, but I hope not.

We’ve had a lot of stuff go our way. It’s unrealistic to think we’ll get 100% of what we want.

When we don’t, we need to keep it in perspective.

We don’t need to be happy about it, but we shouldn’t go for the jugular either.

You said this, "Do you remember when Trump came out strong against PPP? Remember the next day he said he talked to Ivanka and she told him about all the good things PPP does for women's health so he backed up on shutting down PPP, he has not repositioned to his former stance.", HERE.

I took your comments to mean, "...so he backed OFF on shutting down PPP, and he has not repositioned to his former stance...", to mean this.

It wasn't my intent to misrepresent your emphasis HERE. I don't think I did.

What I tried to do is remind you of his actions related to funding for abortion, directly and indirectly related to the Right to Life, and Planned Parenthood.

I touched on his actions related to international funding of institutions that backed or took part in abortion. I touched on his actions related to helping states that wanted to withdraw funding from Planned Parenthood. I touched on his actions related to defunding Planned Parenthood from the federal government.

His actions are about as clear as it gets, with regard to a statement of intent.

He is doing everything in his power to end government support for abortion.

I never saw him as intent on shuttering Planned Parenthood. What it does with any private funding it gets, is up to it. Short of a SCOTUS decision on the matter, Trump has done everything he can.

He HAS NOT been ambiguous on the matter.

Of course there’s a question as to what side of the issue of climate change she comes down on.....so far she hasn’t stated. What we do know is Trump thinks Climate Change is baloney but he still recognizes we need to take care of our environment.

After all we all need to mow our lawns and watch what’s dumped in the waters....so there are environmental issues we all care about......it’s the obvious extremes that go off the map entirely and then some that gets ridiculous.

He HAS NOT been ambiguous on the matter.

Afraid he has as far as the public is concerned. There will be an election before we see some of the positive results of these executive actions and we could lose the House on a couple issues.

Everyone doesn't read FreeRepublic and the little EOs and reg changes are never heard by the voters. The things that people hear are related to healthcare and the border and he needs to bring the battle to his new friends.

We fuss over withholding funds from Sanctuary cities and never mention they are breaking several federal crimes, why is that? We let a district Judge claim they have issued a precedent decision on immigration not based on the law but on what Trump may do in the future, why is that? I watched Governor Richards today continually state Trump-Russian collusion was a fact right after testimony was given in the Senate saying no evidence of such existed.

Why do we give any money at all to PPP when the give money to every democrat idiot running? It is a slush fund for the libs and we never talk about that, tax payer funded commie politicians.

Trump was not elected for who he is, but who he was not, it matters bigly.

He HAS NOT been ambiguous on the matter.

Topic one: Afraid he has as far as the public is concerned. This addressed the issue of abortion and right to life.  It is as true a statement as it could be.

There will be an election before we see some of the positive results of these executive actions and we could lose the House on a couple issues.  It's up to you and others to champion Trump's good actions.  That's how it has been for the last 20 years.

Everyone doesn't read FreeRepublic and the little EOs and reg changes are never heard by the voters. As you state.  This is Free Republic, and I'd at least like to know that everyone here is aware of these things.  I read posts here all the time that make me recognize they don't.

The things that people hear are related to health care and the border and he needs to bring the battle to his new friends.  Trump can only do so much.  He is implementing our agenda.  He is also conducting a direct eMail campaign to get the word out.  There's nothing wrong with what he is doing.

We fuss over withholding funds from Sanctuary cities and never mention they are breaking several federal crimes, why is that?  You don't just one day cut off cities who have declared themselves sanctuary cities.  There is a process, and Trump is pursuing it.

We let a district Judge claim they have issued a precedent decision on immigration not based on the law but on what Trump may do in the future, why is that?  These district court judges make their rulings.  We have to appeal them, in accordance with the law.  We can't just say we won't abide by the ruling.  That would make us the guilty party.  Trump has one such ruling in the court of appeals just today.  I forget which issue it was.

I watched Governor Richards today continually state Trump-Russian collusion was a fact right after testimony was given in the Senate saying no evidence of such existed.  I agree.  What can we do about it?  It ticks me off too.  The idea is to tie this government up in knots so it can't get things done.  We could file contempt of Congress charges, but then how do you prove someone was willfully lying?

Why do we give any money at all to PPP when the give money to every democrat idiot running?  I'm not sure when it started, but we are going through the process of ending it.  Remember, Bush could have addressed this stuff.  He didn't.  Trump is the first sitting president to go after Planned Parenthood funding.

It is a slush fund for the libs and we never talk about that, tax payer funded commie politicians.  Look at PBS.  We're going after their funding too.  Trump is the first guy to do it.  That's why it's so frustrating to people carp on him all day long.  Who did these things before him.  Nobody!  He deserves credit.

Trump was not elected for who he is, but who he was not, it matters bigly.   I and a whole lot of other people voted for him precisely because of who he is, the policies he championed.  It wasn't a hard choice because I would never vote for Clinton, but I didn't vote for Trump because he wasn't her.  I voted for him because he was who he was.

I'd be concerned if there were any evidence Trump has followed the climate change nonsense. So far he has done more to advance the conservative cause than anyone since Reagan, yet all the squealers act as if he's been co opted by a "Manhattan socialite leftist cabal" (not even close to a decent take on them).

He had Gore and DiCaprio in at the transition, posters here squealed about her evil influence back then, and of course he proceeded to appoint a "climate denier" to head the EPA a few days later. A more recent thread of squealers were saying how the evil Ivanka wanted him to agree to cap and trade. He proceeded to go against it.

I would think the squealers would shut up and watch, maybe even get a life, but they don't......

Hyperventilating about what never happens is pretty weird looking.

I think we all give credit to Trump for the good things he is doing but that doesn't cancel the thing he is letting slide.

These district court judges make their rulings. We have to appeal them, in accordance with the law.

He can just say he doesn't agree and ignore them while the Supreme Court makes the decision. What would happen if a District Judge decided withholding tax was unconstitutional, would they stop collecting them? No they wouldn't.

Another big story today is the SIL called Trudeau and asked him to persuade Trump not to withdraw from NAFTA and Trump backed down. Also relatives of his are selling Green Card to Chinese, no clue if it is true but the story is out there this morning.

We both want exactly the same thing for our Country and our Children but I want Trump to take the gloves off and put on the Brass Nucks. I said from the beginning he could not undo this mess by waving the constitution around, he would have to get a bigger pen and phone because he would be fighting both parties. He needs to rouse the rabble.

Yes, it does appear some are hyperventilating at every turn before the actual facts are presented....possibly because they have determined that regardless of the outcome they simply don't want Trumps family members involved with his Presidency...period. So any little thing is going to set them off. I prefer to wait and see....though I have some reservations about Ivanka's participation and role....as long as she presents the Presidents Agenda I'm ok with it....but I'm not yet convinced she will do so....it's a wait and see thing for me because she does have her own personal agenda she hopes to accomplish and influence ,which she has spoken of and desires to do..... .

What you and I can voice an objecting opinion on and ignore, is something he can’t.

If I get a judgment I can’t stand, I can appeal. If I don’t comply or get a stay, I have to follow the court’s instruction. In a sense, so does Trump.

If it were Bill Clinton or Barack Obama in there, I would not support them defying a judicial judgement.

As much as I don’t like the rulings against Trump, I cannot urge him to defy the court (judge). It sets a miserable precedent.

What the IRS does and what others due, are frequently not on the same scale. The IRS has been given a very wide latitude. There would be an immediate appeal, and there would be a stay.

I don’t know who/what SIL is.

As for stories, there are so many and folks here are using them to justify some really strange beliefs.

This guy is on our side, and yet we have people here judging the stories as if he’s our enemy. The stories from the worst newspapers are taken for granted if it’s talking about Trump or his family. Why?

Did we do that to Reagan? Did we side against him when the papers trashed him for Iran/Contra? No, we stood by his side.

With Trump some of our folks actually pick up a spear and start chucking them at him. Who cares if the stories are true or not. We just don’t like some of his people, so they are fair game.

Our crew has got to get over this. They are doing the Left’s work on this forum, I don’t care how high minded they are trying to be. This type of thing is a low life effort.

I think he may have to call folks out onto the street. Protests can be a massive motivator.

We still have to work within the law. If we don’t, we have joined the Democrats. We can’t do that.

Whatever we do, we have to remember that one day there will be a Democrat able to do the same thing. We have to limit ourselves to things we don’t want the Democrats doing.

That may sound defeatists, but you know, we don’t have to sit still for it when they do it. Just because we have been doing it, doesn’t mean it was a good idea.

This is why I don’t trust Ryan or McConnell.

They’re too timid to play hard-ball.

How McConnell got the backbone to deny Obama appointments near the end is beyond me. It was the only thing I can credit him with over the last eight years.

We are both frustrated with how things work Rs vs Ds.

Thanks for the note.

On the point we will disagree. It is not Trump who would be flouting the law but a Judge that has no authority to rule on the question and did not even mention the relevant law that he ruled against.

It did set a miserable precedent but Trump could have headed it off, he didn't. We are not enemies just differ on this issue. Of course firing Comey today gains him some points at least with me.
