A program to be rolled out at Emory University this fall pledges to pay “100% of demonstrated financial need for undergraduate Undocumented Students (with or without DACA) who are admitted as first-year, first-degree-seeking students,” campus officials state online.
Emory, a highly ranked institution located in Georgia, costs about $50,000 annually in tuition and fees for American students and $70,000 for international students, the latter of whom are not afforded the same generous treatment as students in the country illegally.
“As an international applicant, you are required to certify that you have sufficient funds to cover your expenses while attending Emory University,” the university’s website states.

So the $50K per year will go up. All the privileged will be happy to pay more.
One of two things will happen. First, the university will run out of money as illegals realize they can go for free. Or, they will not honor this very long. There ARE laws of economics, you know.
And citizens get screwed.
If the are illegals then they have no compunctions about flouting the law.
So of course, yes they will readily “certify” that they are in financial need.

2- Alumni . . bitch like crazy and cut off ALL donations, pledges. Emory is clearly financially irresponsible.
Students at Emory, and the parents who send them there, have (Bleep) for brains.
Or maybe they feel fine about giving a free ride to illegals.
What’s next? Grade averaging? Why not? That’s only fair too, right?
Why should a student enjoy a 3.8 or better when others struggle with lower GPA’s?
Well, if they have so much money, they should not need to get PELL grants from the federal government!!!
Emory will pay nothing, as other students pick up the tab.

At this point Emory University should forfeit all federal funds. No student of Emory should be able from this point on to received federal grants or scholarships to attend their institution.
Even if it's stupid, they can still do it.
So, wonder how fast their real students figure out they’re choking down this cost in their tuition hikes? LOL!! Best way to learn real world economics.
How does this action square with Sec 595 of the IIRIRA? Can Emory legally do this?
