A federal judge on Thursday ordered Georgia to temporarily reopen voter registration ahead of a hotly contested congressional runoff in the 6th District.

U.S. District Judge Timothy Batten made the ruling as part of a broader lawsuit by a Washington-based advocacy group, which last month accused Georgia of violating federal law by reducing the amount of time residents have to register to vote.

Things that tick me off..this is one of them. My take: The left is doing everything they can to change the rules so they can get more demwit voters to the poles.

was there any info at the link that you posted?

Wikipedia does not have an article with this exact name. Please search for Timothy C. Batten Sr in Wikipedia to check for alternative titles or spellings.

Link works for me.

Try this:

Then follow the link at Batten’s name............

This is bullshit.

In GA it has been, for as long as I can remember, that if you didn’t vote in a primary that you couldn’t vote in a run-off. Maybe this wasn’t technically a primary, but new voter resistration for this is BS.

And there goes the race. This is my district. I’ve been wondering how they were going to use the money.

I’ve never in all my life seen anything like this. The fix is in.

After this decision I would be curious about the charter bus bookings in the area.

Most likely this will just motivate GOP voters too. Probably a wash in the end.

Some folks laughed when I said this district is purple and eventually will be solid blue.

It doesn’t take much to make that a sooner reality I see.

The left is doing everything they can to change the rules

That's Rule #2 in the Democrat Handbook:
If you lose or are losing, change the rules and try again.

Of course, Rule #1 is:
It's always someone else's fault.

Immediate emergency appeal to SCOTUS. The thug in the black robe will lose.

A single ruling does not necessarily define a judge as a “thug”. Here is a ruling by the same judge in March that most would agree with: http://www.walb.com/story/34961623/common-cause-naacp-lawsuit-against-kemp-dismissed

judge, we couldn’t forge enough new registrations fast enough

(imported addressees moving in with Georgia supporters, using their address as their “home” residential address, just to get registered in Georgia - meanwhile already registered in another state)

we need more time to gin up our numbers before the voting starts.
