Top staffers loyal to ousted Heritage Foundation president Jim DeMint have stepped down from organization, according to a new report.
The Daily Beast reported Tuesday evening that top staffers -- including Executive Vice President Bret Bernhardt, Vice President of Communications Wesley Denton, Vice President of Policy Promotion Ed Corrigan and DeMints chief of staff, Camera Seward, have resigned.
The Heritage Foundation announced DeMints resignation earlier Tuesday, blaming the former leader for "significant and worsening management issues that led to a breakdown of internal communications and cooperation.
DeMint, a former South Carolina senator, took the helm of Heritage in 2013.
"Jim DeMint and a handful of his closest advisers failed to resolve these problems, read a statement from the organization.

Haven't missed them at all...
Good luck to Jim DeMintt..maybe he can challenge Lindsey Graham...
So the useless white paper think tank will go back to producing toilet paper
They haven’t killed anybody yet, but these purges in the media are starting to look kind of soviet.
Big deal. Trump couldn’t even change anything in D.C.
Yet more “business as usual” in WDC cretins get flushed out. I think the heritage foundation should not get a penny more from anyone.
Indeed.
I know you would have had your way on the Hill, right? You would have nullified the House and legislated your very own self, right? Senate too, I’m just sure.
Just you being you would have transformed the three branches of government.
Get over yourself, Socrates.
Hopefully Trump will reward DeMint by helping him to primary Linda McCain in 2020. He’s still young by Senate standards and taking out that RINO would be delicious revenge.
The Swamp is fighting back.
S. Carolina saves the day again. GO DeMint!!!
I started supporting Heritage after I learned some things about Hillsdale College. I hope they work things out.
So the useless white paper think tank will go back to producing toilet paper>>> probably. they weren’t out front on much of anything. and demint shouldn’t be a day to day ops person. fuerlner(sp) created it with koch money i beleive and now can’t keep it going. like national review.
Exactly
I’ve been supporting Heritage for a VERY long time.
Their compass needle had better come around to True North once the dust settles or I’ll be re-routing those funds to more worthy causes.
We may be about to lose Heritage. That would not be good.
It is a shame if the Heritage Foundation gets crippled by internal fighting. I was there literally at its inception (I worked for Human Events newspaper and knew a lot of Heritage people who were smart, savy and on-the-ball). Paul Weyrich was a very nice, smart person as was Ed Feulner.
Met Dinesh D’Souza and Kelly Conway there as part of the 3rd Generation lecture series. They were fantastic as you can see today, and that was almost 25 years ago.
Heritage Foundation reports were very well done on current and strategic topics and were used by conservative newspapers because they were well done.
Don’t know what is going on but I hope they get their troubles under control and get back to doing the job that needs to be done, i.e., keep the public informed on pressing issues.
Jim DeMint was always held in high regard by conservatives and moderates alike. I would love for him to come back to the Senate where he is badly needed considering the wimps and cowards who run or ruin it now.
