ATTITUDE OF GRATITUDE
Good morning this rainy Sunday! This morning someone asked me, "How do you like the lousy weather, Chaplain?" I thought a moment about the fact that my uniform was wet, my car had trouble starting, and about all those poor people stuck in the wall of traffic that inevitably occurs when 58 gets drenched. Then later I thought, how would we exist without the rain which makes all life on our planet possible? I remembered the old prayer in my prayer book, a blessing to God for the gift of wind and rain. There is an old story, a beautiful story, about a boy who came home famished after long hours of play with his friends. His mother served him some sandwiches which satisfied his hunger and caused him to thank his mom. She said, "Don't thank me, son, I only prepared the food." So he went to the grocer to thank him for the bread. "Don't thank me, young man, I only sell the food." He walked over to the baker and thanked him. "Son, you're thanking the wrong person, I only bake the bread." Wondering whom to thank, the boy went to the farmer to thank him. "Thank you for the fine bread that I eat every day," he said. "Don't thank me, my friend, I only plant the seeds. The earth, sunshine, rain, and wind make the wheat grow, not I.
By now the boy was tired and hungry so the farmer invited him to join his family for dinner. As they were seated around the table, each person took a piece of bread from the basket and said together: Praised be Thou, O Lord our God, King of the universe, Who brings bread out of the earth." So, today, let's thank God for the sunny days and the rainy ones, too--as well as for the food He gives us. Each day is truly a blessing! Chaplain Mitch Schranz

Howdy, Kathy.
With the warmer daytime temps, are you seeing any greening up in your yard yet?

Howdy, LUV.
Your cool weather finally moved east. I wish y’all could have gotten the rain with yours that we got. Well, maybe not quite as much because there’s been some flooding in TN the past couple of days, especially today. No flooding her but it’s soupy outside.

Howdy, radu! Man! I wish we’d gotten some rain, too! It sure enough got chillier, though. I don’t think it got any higher than 64, whereas it got up to 92 yesterday! Crazy!
Glad y’all got some rain and REALLY glad that the flooding missed you! That’s certainly no fun at all! I guess with it being messy, you stayed in mostly? Any neat lightning to take videos of?

You mean y’all don’t have all the “winters” we get in the south? We had dogwood winter a week or so ago and I’m not sure what this one is. Haven’t checked the blackberry bushes to see if they’re blooming, but this might be blackberry winter.
It was a stay inside day what with the rain. Hubby had let the few cats who are allowed outside go out but they were ready to come in when I got up. Not happy being wet.
Hubby was only in AL for a day and got back mid-evening. He went to pick up another Buick station wagon like the one we have and it’ll be a parts car for it.

Wow, that’s a heck of a temperature drop! Bet it feels good to y’all though.
The areas that flooded today got a lot of rain yesterday as well as today. We didn’t so the rain we got today - 2 inches - was able to soak better. Still sloppy out there right now.
Not much lightning here but even if there had been, it was raining too hard to go out with the camera. One bolt hit somewhere fairly close and must have damaged something pertaining to the power grid. The lights flickered and the blip shut off my computer. Nothing going on outside now but we’ve had to more blips the past half hour and they shut down both of our computers. The second was as I was typing this the first time so let’s see if I can get it posted before another blip. LOL

A ‘96 Roadmaster. The first thing it’s for is to replace the front fender that was messed up when the wheel fell off a couple of weeks ago. I’m still glad it happened when Hubby was driving it and not when I was! I prayed that car home the day it started making noises.
And other parts will come in handy at some point.

All is well here on this kind of cool Sunday morning. It’s going to be another pretty day. Kind of wish it was a rainy one instead. LOL!
Hope you and Bo are having a great weekend! Did he find any moles or gophers to pester yesterday? :)

Actually, we walked through the forrested areas yesterday. Bo wanted to walk through the areas where all of the thorny twigs were. It was fun trying to keep up with him but we enjoyed it.
The gates were locked as some of the road was still muddy. We had a great time out there.

Late, but a Blessed Lord’s Day to you and yours, radu.
I crashed last night and slept 6 straight hours. I’m a tad behind on sleep.
