The most competitive special Congressional election yet has arrived, and we will be providing returns live tonight right here. In addition to our district-wide totals, we will be analyzing county and precinct level returns. For the Democrats, the hope is that Jon Ossoff can pull out an outright win tonight- if he gets over 50% of the vote in this crowded field, hes in as the districts new Representative in Congress. If he falls short, then he will face off against one of four likely Republican opponents in a runoff on June 20th: Karen Handel, Bob Gray, Judson Hill, or Dan Moody. Polls close at 7pm and we anticipate at least early vote tallies to begin rolling in shortly thereafter. Refresh this page for the latest results tonight out of Georgia.
Ossoff doesn’t have to live in the district he’s running for by law that is OK?
And DeKalb?
More Democrat....

Wouldn’t more Rep candidates attract more Rep voters?
Applying differing standards from one precinct to the other might be grounds for an appeal. Not saying it would go anywhere, but it could happen.
That’s a fair point. They would have been better to have one good candidate for people to coalesce behind. That said, it’s based on the sum total of percentage, so essentially all you have to do is vote for an R to keep him from going over 50%, right?
The general thought is that without a “front runner” there is no where for enthusiasm and the feeling of backing a winner to form around.
It appears that the candidates of the party see no pecking order hierarchy within their group, why should voters see them as any more than also-rans.

I like how Georgia seemed to count over four million votes on election night in 2016 faster than they’re counting these 150,000 or so.
If no one person over 50.0 %, then it is only the top two, correct?
4 voting machines stolen ahead of a high-profile special election in Georgia.
Yes.
Don't worry, they will return them tonight.
Is that the final count?
Yea but isn’t the Dem at 57%
Ossoff has now dropped BELOW 50% to 49.25%.
Right now Ossoff has dropped down to 57.8% with most of the "early voting' counted. He will continue to go down as "same day" votes come in.
