Bill Clinton didn't want Hillary to apologize for server: book

Former President Bill Clinton originally did not want Hillary Clinton to apologize for her use of a private email server while serving as secretary of State, a new book reveals.

The Hill's Amie Parnes and Sidewire's Jonathan Allen report in "Shattered: Inside Hillary Clinton's Doomed Campaign" that the former Democratic presidential nominee's top advisers thought she should apologize, regardless of whether or not she had done something wrong.

But Bill Clinton thought differently.

Instead, he thought his wife should explain what she was thinking and why she didn't believe she had done anything wrong with her email setup. During an August, 2015 campaign appearance in Iowa, Clinton addressed the issue of her email server.

“It clearly wasn’t the best choice. I should’ve used two emails— one personal, one for work," she said.

Put Hillary in front of a basic "Best Buy" computer and say -- "Please install some software on this machine, or please disable some software on this machine; your choice."

And, by the way, government computers are set up so that it's pretty darn hard to disable key programs.

To put it bluntly: She doesn't know HOW to do any of this stuff. She directed an IT tech to go against policy and circumvent the rules. There was probably push-back. She forced him to do it. I can't see any other way for this to have gone down.

I’m not believing this book very much from what I’ve seen; seems like they try to sugarcoat things by making Clintons look sort of bad but not too bad.

I’m with you. Their political influence has expired and do you really think that the Democrat power structure wants Hillary to run and lose for a third time? They won’t let her ever get close again! Bill is the only one in that deranged crime family who has brains and political sense. Hillary had this election fixed to the point that only a true incompetent dimwit like her could lose and she did. Chelsea is dumb as a pile of rocks. She won’t get very far in politics. Never say never with the Clintons around, but I think they’re done being a force in national politics.

I think the only one with the political skills to win national office was Bill, and he may not live much longer. Without Bill, Hillary would have ended up a second rate contract reader at a third rate law firm moonlighting as a bill collector at night to make ends meet.
