Grocery store aisles are lined with chocolate candy bunnies, jelly beans, and marshmallow Peeps, but one thing is missing--the word "Easter."
Hershey's, M&M's, Lindor, Russell Stover, Dove, Rolo, and Twix have all produced Easter themed candy without mentioning the word on the front of their candy, according to a press release from the Liberty Counsel.
"Just as companies were trying to profit from Christmas while ignoring the reason for the celebration, now companies are targeting the Christian aspects of Easter and removing them," Mat Staver, Founder, and Chairman of Liberty Counsel said.

I wonder if the new kits even say Easter.
I searched "Easter candy" on Amazon....and none of the selections (I saw) say Easter.
How did we ever arrive at chocolate bunnies and peeps for Easter?
When I google, “retro easter candy packaging” and look at images, there are a lot of “Easter” in the packaging.
Remove the word “retro” in the search, and the word “Easter” is not there.
Good point. Whining about culture reveals that you are trying to lean on it.
Peeps was (supposedly) founded by a Christian...and now their packaging has also removed Easter. I think they’ve sold, since original owner.
Some folks refer to easter as Resurrection Sunday.
I like that term.
Big confectionery conglomerates.
Christians who want Christian themed candy can shop specialty or DIY frugal. In many cases boycott makes no sense because of the size of the necessary naughty lists. But here the purpose makes it self boycotting. Being ashamed of Easter will cost.
Happy Spring Season everyone? That what it is turning into in our diversified PC society. It ain’t 1955 anymore Mrs Cleaver.
Uneasy relationship. If a Christian confectioner were to put out explicit resurrection themed goods, would this be seen as glorifying mammon? Maybe DIY is the way to go?
Celebrate the real meaning of Easter by eating chocolate bunnies?!
Me too.
I purchased one today. It says “America’s Favorite Easter Tradition” right on the front of the box.
I celebrate Easter as a religious holiday and I love dyeing eggs and making Easter baskets with chocolate bunnies.
I think you can do both, although all of the name brand candy is HORRIBLE. Hershey, the malt eggs, m&m’s—the quality has gone down over the years, the sizes have shrunk and they’re very expensive. I don’t buy any if it.
My kids did experiments on the old ones leftover from last year LOL.
Easter = Resurrection Sunday.
Chocolate cake. It’s an inside joke.
This company sells Easter candy, available at local Walgreens drug stores.

We just went thru our packages. Zachary chocolate marshmallow egg-carton eggs say “Easter bunny headquarters”. Peeps says “always in season” and shows icons for heart, chick, pumpkin, snowman. Brach’s hardcoat marshmallow eggs are “bunny basket eggs”. Spangler circus peanut eggs are “bunnies chicks & eggs”. Lindt says ‘gold bunnies’.
Zachary gets 2 points. Peeps get to skate because, well, they’re peeps! The rest - need a chat.
