Like his predecessors, Donald J Trump is trying to figure out how to handle North Koreas provocations the country may be preparing for its sixth nuclear test and how to compel China to help constrain Pyongyangs nuclear ambitions.
On Sunday, the Pentagon deployed a strike group moving towards the western Pacific, because it is prudent to have the ships near North Korea, said national security adviser HR McMaster. In response, on Tuesday North Koreas state media threatened that they could hit the US first, adding that pre-emptive strikes are not the exclusive right of the United States.
By launching an airstrike in Syria during his recent summit with Chinas president, Xi Jinping, Trump seems to be signaling that hed be willing to unilaterally bomb North Korea like he bombed Syria. Indeed, in a Tuesday tweet, Trump warned: if China decides to help, that would be great. If not, we will solve the problem without them!
How do you solve a problem like North Korea? Like brokering an Israeli-Palestine peace deal, allaying North Koreas discontent with its security environment and the regions fear of a North Korean attack is extremely complicated. Trumps policy will reportedly focus more on pressuring Beijing to constrain North Korea, and on additional sanctions.

So fatboy is acting like a crazy person and stomping his feet to get free stuff? Sounds like our democrats here at home.
“Crazy” explains it.
Ummm nope.
They are inbred crazy.
Nuttin to understand...
And I have zero interest in getting to know them...
“Let’s stop calling North Korea ‘crazy’ and understand their motives”
Why do we need to understand them? Isn’t it enough that we put an end to their decades of threats, attacks, abductions, and assassinations?
NK always takes these provocations as far as possible in order wring concessions out of the west. However, they are dealing with a different type of American president now.
The best possible solution to NK is to eliminate the regime. It doesn’t even matter if China ends up in direct control so long as the very evil NK government is wiped off the face of the earth.
China is the key. Maybe they have finally had enough of NK, too?
How can it be about “their” motives when one guy runs the entire country?
Three generations of crazy.....................
No, let’s don’t. We don’t have to reason with him. He is unable to reason. No understanding of tyrants.
He is crazy. He is fat. He is immature. We can rightly call him a crazy, fat boy.
My Korean students think the name is hilarious. They also love the US.
I’m all for understanding the N. Korean regime — top to bottom. I want to know all about their motivations, their grievances, even details about their personal life (did they like dogs, have hobbies, etc.).
But -— but, first I want them all taken out. Historians, psychologists, political scientists, etc. can then study the regime at their leisure.
The only way to stop them is with a nuke preemptive strike.
Step one.
Kill the present leaders.
Step 2.
Begin negotiations with those who were not killed in Step 1.
If they fail to stop acting like crazy paranoid democrats, and if the continue to work towards the destruction of South Korea AND their own people by nuclear weapons and conventional armies, then repeat Step 1.
Insanity does not lend itself to rational analysis
I also think China has to deal with the Norks soon because of this issue: North Koreans are illegally immigrating into Liaoning and Jilin Provinces in northeastern China. China wants to stop this problem, and the most effective way to do this is eliminating the Kim regime in North Korea.
It’s always worked for NK before. Before Trump, that is.
It isn’t crazy if it works.
And, for a long time, North Korea’s crazy act has worked.
If I remember correctly in the end Damascus will no longer exist and there will be world peace courtesy of the anti-christ. Mmmmm.
It’s the Guardian.
That collection of clowns would defend Hitler if they thought it would benefit leftists.
Oh well, it keeps those who produce nothing usefully (or, more properly, uselessly) employed.
“How can it be about their motives when one guy runs the entire country?”
Exactly.
