WADI ABADAHBA, Oman – Deep in the jagged red mountains of Oman, geologists are drilling in search of the holy grail of reversing climate change: an efficient and cheap way to remove carbon dioxide from the air and oceans.
They are coring samples from one of the world's only exposed sections of the Earth's mantle to uncover how a spontaneous natural process millions of years ago transformed CO2 into limestone and marble.
As the world mobilizes to confront climate change, the main focus has been on reducing emissions through fuel efficient cars and cleaner power plants. But some researchers are also testing ways to remove or recycle carbon already in the seas and sky.
The Hellisheidi geothermal plant in Iceland injects carbon into volcanic rock. At the massive Sinopec fertilizer plant in China, CO2 is filtered and reused as fuel. In all, 16 industrial projects currently capture and store around 27 million tons of CO2, according to the International Energy Agency. That's less than 0.1 percent of global emissions — but the technology has shown promise.

Considering that "Climate Change" is more of a religious belief than science, it makes perfect sense that its believers are searching for a Climate Change Holy Grail.
The real global warming culprit is water vapor. Get rid of that and the planet gets nice and cool. Old in fact.
Irrigate the Sahara, and re-green it. The plant growth will pull all that nasty CO2 right out.
Seriously, as I recall, CO2 is the bottleneck for plant growth right now. I read that it’s very close to the minimum amount needed to sustain plant life. If it were to go up any noticeable amount, the world would get a lot greener. Isn’t it high-school biology that organisms expand to take advantage of a resource, or something to that effect? Does that not also apply to plants?

Yup. And water vapor in the atmosphere varies anywhere from 0% to 4%, or thereabouts. So what is the “correct” level of water vapor, and how could you possibly control it?
I assume that last sentence is supposed to be “Cold, in fact”.
It works the other way, too. Make the planet colder, and you get less water vapor. Which brings me to something I really want to get printed on a T-shirt: End Global Warming! Justice for Doggerland!
I am continually amazed at the incredible amount of money and effort spent in support of an utter hoax.
True plant on earth is growing taller, faster, wider and greener with more fruit, more seeds, more leaves and wider branches than ever in recorded history. The amount depends on plant type, but ALL are growing 12% to 24% faster and more drought-resistant. We are feeding some 1.1 billion people a year from this increase.
Humans are not smart enough at this point to be messing with directly, “scientifically” intentionally messing with the climate. More likely to create a new ice age than slow “global warming”.
How will you circulate this magical CO2-laden fluid into the bowels of the earth and have it react when the rock has no porosity or permeability? We are talking about the mantle, not a beach sand.

The ‘story’ is inexhaustibly peppered with facts, figures and data - all likely cherry-picked and selectively peer-reviewed at best. The problem is these people won’t EVER quit. An extreme amount of government and other public largess money is at stake for the ‘academic’ whores willing to prostitute their educations for the ease of ‘completely funded research.’
At stake for those funding this is unbridled oppression and taxation to cover all manner of splendiferous dacha perks and absolute control.
Even in the midst of an increasingly skeptical population these whores and government thieves persist, clinging to bleats and threats.
And now, they are relegated to hawking BS data-finding on ancient treasure troves that they can manipulate. Never mind that they cannot even take their ‘models’ put REAL experienced data in them and come up with answers from their models that are correct - not without massaging the input data. They are all whores and crooks and my opinion.
If we were to reduuce the Carbon Dioxide in the atmosphere just 0.04% then all life on earth will be cease.
It seems to me that we are in a dangerous carbon dioxide shortage.
