Alan Dershowitz, a prominent Harvard Law School professor and liberal author, slammed the Democratic National Committee as hypocritical for politicizing White House press secretary Sean Spicers Hitler gaffe while ignoring its own problem with anti-Semitism. Mr. Dershowitz said on CNN Tonight that hes willing to give Mr. Spicer a pass after the press secretary initially suggested during a briefing Tuesday, which also marked Passover, that Adolf Hitler didnt use chemical weapons during WWII.
What happened here is the guy screwed up, Mr. Dershowitz said, according to a clip published by Real Clear Politics. He apologized, and he apologized from his heart, and I am prepared to give him a pass on this.
Ill tell you who I am not prepared to give a pass on this, he continued, the Democratic National Committee that has immediately decided to politicize this and send out immediate tweets saying, We cant tolerate anti-Semitism or even a whiff of anti-Semitism. This is the Democratic National Committee, who has as its co-chairman Keith Ellison, who didnt recognize the fact that he was working for an anti-Semite, [Louis] Farrakhan. This is just hypocrisy, and I think we should not make politics out of this.

Dershowitz is sometimes full of it, but he has a much better record of coherence and sanity than 95% of liberals.
Bush is Hitler.
Trump is Hitler.
Assad is Hitler -— “Oh! Oh! Oh! That’s just waaaaaaaaay out of line!!!”
Our side should never bring up Hitler..it never seems to go well.
I’m starting to wonder if he might be becoming a closet Freeper in his old age.
Spicer has been doing a good to excellent job. He made a mistake of not thinking his comment through. It’s a greater mistake to accede to the progs’ insistence that he grovel in apologies. His intent in no way was to deny the Holocaust!
They most certainly ARE hypocrites...after eight years spent kissing the butts of the PLO and Iran and every Muslim wacko there is including ISIS, NOW they announce that they will not tolerate even a “whiff” of anti-Semitism??? I guess “Jews are the descendants of monkeys and pigs” did not stink enough to offend them?! /sarcasm

He’s got to be the current title holder of “Last Honest Liberal.” No one else even close in the radicalized Democrat Party.
Geesh...he stands there day after day and get pelted with these idiot questions from the idiot media...and he makes one mistake...
They called Bush worse at time, but their ‘dearly beloved’ bami did more things to ruin America and Her people than any POTUS before him, and they think the sun rises and sets in him...
Liberalism is a MENTAL disease!!!
When I first heard of the brew-ha-ha concerning Spicer misspeaking, my eyes glazed over.
If THAT is all the Enemy Media has to ‘report’ on, they’ve got jack!
Slow. News. Day. Fake. News. Always. *YAWN*
Note to self:
Avoid invoking Hitler in the political realm. Wait
for opposition to bring it up then beat them over
the head with it.
Democrats will politicize the day of the Second Coming when it happens.
..Its a greater mistake to accede to the progs insistence that he grovel in apologies...
Dems never apologize for anything.
i take Dershowitz seriously - even though he is more liberal than I, he is honest. i feel the same way about Doug Schoen who is sometimes on Fox. both of them are intellectually honest - and basically decent.
Before attacking somebody for some comment, ask "Is this something I could possibly have said myself?"
I think a lot of people have said something like this at one point or another, in reference to Hitler not using gas against allied troops. We know what Spicer meant, and it's something our parents or grandparents might have said and understood.
In a way, the apology or explanation was worse than the original comment, since the clarification implied that those killed by gas didn't include many who had been German citizens (before they were unjustly stripped of their citizenship by Hitler's Nuremberg Laws).
