Buckle up, United Airlines, because you're about to hit stormy skies.

The airline has enraged the public this week for violently yanking an uncooperative passenger off an overbooked flight.

Now, the company is gearing up for a legal battle that can't be fixed with a half-assed apology tweet.

While United was playing the aviation blame game, the victim of Sunday's incident, Dr. David Dao, enlisted the aid of two prominent Chicago attorneys, hinting that he plans on giving the airline quite the ass kicking in court.

The 69-year-old medical professional has hired corporate law specialist Stephen Golan and personal injury specialist Thomas Demetrio. This suggests Dao will not only sue for United's mistreatment of him, but for their procedures which allowed them to kick him off to make room for their own crew.

He’ll head right to a gambling hide away.

He'll be able to afford his own gambling hideaway, thanks to the thuggery of Chicago Department of Aviation security officers and the numnuts at United.

The United pilot's dealing with some legal issues of his own...

the way he screamed like a wuss....he needs to be smacked around. When the police become involved, sorry, but you gotta follow orders...just the way it is.

Yeah, guess that Tazer shot from inches didn't scramble his brain enough. They should've cracked his head a couple times with the club to give him a couple serious fractures - that'd teach him to keep his mouth shut!

he will lose if he sues United

the malefactors were cops

The alleged doctor was in violation of FCC regulations and was declared and advised he was belligerent and could not continue to fly

the passenger was at fault

A long explanation of the FCC regulations and United’s compliance was detailed on Rush. I hope I correctly conveyed his very rational message

Getting bumped, asking for volunteers is fine but enforcing it with goons and dragging a 69 year old unconscious passenger off the plane is not right. Do you fly? Seems like most or all dismissing the passenger in various FR threads do not fly, some taking pride in how long since they last flew. No standing on topic. I fly nearly every week. I am at SeaTac now for Delta flight after speaking at conference today. I side with the passenger. His only mistake was to fly United.

“” Maybe United should have offered more for people to give up their seats. Would have saved them a LOT of money in the end. “”

They should have offered $1000 in cash. Would have been way cheaper. They only offered credit to ride on their crappy planes. Who the hell wants that krappy offer.

At this point winning or losing in court is besides the point. United will lose bigly in the court of public opinion. The stockholders will take a bath. I'm glad I'm not one of them.

This guy has hired a lawyer that will have United falling all over itself to settle.

“Dao, who has retained lawyer Thomas Demetrio.....”

“he will lose if he sues United”

He’s already done it, and his Lawyer is a serious heavyweight. Only equation is how many zeros the settlement check will have.

Look, nobody wants to be bumped, but it’s the chance you take.

BS. Only those who have retired, or those who are on welfare have the time to allow for day or more delay for the convenience of the airlines. If they want to deny boarding to people with a ticket, especially a NON-CANCELABLE ticket, they need to keep raising the incentive ($) until they are able to convince people to give up their seat(s).

But I believe our great lawmakers in collusion with the airlines made this illegal.
