Preparing to deploy additional 25,000 troops to N. Korean border where 150,000 troops had massed
[Seoul=Newsis] Lee Jae-jun reporter = According to Apr. 12 report of Oriental Daily News in Hong Kong, in addition to the Northern Military District bordering on N. Heavy armor is rumored to be part of the deployment by Russia. The Russian Pacific Fleet is also on alert.
I'd love to know what The President said to him that got such action, when Presidents dating back to the 1950s couldn't.
Maybe we are seeing a precursor to the fall of the Communist regime in NK — like East Germany when the USSR fell and the reunification of Germany?
Maybe through their own experience, China have realized that Communism is a failure and that it is time for NK to end it.
South Korea would probably be happy with a reunification of some sort as long as the current government in NK is gone.
South Korea’s economy would certainly be able to transition the North into the modern world.
North Korea is like 1984 in real life. All of their threats are propaganda. America and Japan are the enemy. South Korea is a unwitting tool of the US. China and Russia are their partners.
If China invades, North Korean citizens would think they were coming to protect them. China is their ally.
I wonder if the assassination of Kim’s relative in Malaysia was the last straw. Up until now, what happened in North Korea stayed in North Korea.
I would love to see North Korean news right now. Have they brought back the screaming banshee in the bathrobe yet?
Kim Il Sung’s birthday is the 15th.
All I want is a full-on nuclear war.
Looks like they photoshopped his head by stretching it up! lol
How convenient.
All the military in one place, distracted and vulnerable....................
Trump just launched against Syria and by defacto, Russia.
ALL while meeting with the Chinese premier.
He then goes immediately to NK and rattles his sabre, with China rattling theirs.
To the little fat guy, Trumps walking bow legged, with coconuts the size of bowling balls.
Haven’t heard of the Pak fa being operational.
I hope the generals know.
Tridents are for when nuke is the only option.
I recall seeing macho troops from SK and Turkey elbowing each other at the PX in Yokohama. It was an open question as to which was more nuts...
So the crazy Fat Boy is looking down the barrels of China, Russia and US.
And some NK general whispers in his ear “double dare you!”
Guess we will see just how crazy he is soon!
“So, in two weeks the show starts?....................”
Sooner.
These are reinforcements that will seal the border once the mechanized strike forces move into NK.
“Sounds like xi and trump planning to force a coup to take out fatboy”
Trump is a man of action. He sees a problem and tries to solve it. Unlike Obama who will just kick things down the road.
“The Chinese could simply eliminate the little weasel and annex the pitiful little North Korean state.”
Or spit it with South Korea.
That's the big unknown: I can see what the US wants (no NK nukes), I can even see the Chinese stirring things up with NK to cause trouble for the US, SK and Japan.
But what are the NK's getting out of this? The eight years of Obama's apology tour (and previous admin's flaccidity) convinced them that the US would do nothing. Now that it apears that we will (and may have the Chinese on our side), it's not clear how the NK's can climb down from the limb upon which they sit.
My guess is the only way to prevent NK having ICBM's with nukes is regime change in Pyongyang.
Yawn. Just saber rattling. If China was serious, they’d have taken out the chubby one a long time ago.
While China may indeed decapitate NorK, I truly doubt that they will stay there any longer than they must, after setting up a puppet government.
The biggest reason is that the Chinese already have a huge problem with North Korean illegal aliens, and certainly do not want millions of NorK refugees flooding into China. If anything, once they set up the puppet, they will start exporting NorK illegals back to NorK like there is no tomorrow.
Oddly enough, SKor doesn’t want all those illegal aliens, either, or to have to pay to fix NorK, so they are likely trying to assure the Chinese as much as possible that they will not make a fuss if China does something.
The US wildcard is the one thing President Trump could offer to help the Chinese stabilize the situation: a ballistic missile shield in case NorK starts throwing missiles at the Chinese.
