From China’s point of view, an unthreatening North Korea is a necessary route to suborning South Korea as a client state. Without a rabid NK, SK can possibly be convinced they dont need the US.

The build-up by American and Chinese forces is probably an invitation to some segment in North Korea to get rid of their little chubby dictator.

China would get it’s butt kicked like it did in 79’ vs. Viet Nam. Norks have always been ready for war.

Since we tend to strike early mornings, that would be from 2 to 4 P.M. our time. Stock Market should be open for action. Next few days should be interesting.

Gold has been steadily climbing.

Possibly. The question is what will North Korea do if China comes over the border. Their traditional enemy is Japan, South Korea and America. Will they pull an Iraq and attack the county that isn’t involved?

Being ready for 60 years is like not being ready. Their equipment is in shambles and it is pointing in the wrong direction.
I wonder if we sent a carrier group to protect South Korea. Mechanized brigades aren’t there to guard the Chinese border.

More PSYops to make the little fat guy (and his leaders) to sweat.

All these events that are happening are designed to push those around him to do something.

Do the North Koreans have much of a conventional military? Seems like they put most of their eggs in the Nukes basket. Plus, the country as a whole is poor with virtually not infrastructure or manufacturing.

Their only export is “extortion” and giving nukes to terrorist countries.

Trump cut China some kind of deal on North Korea. I don’t know what the deal is and I’m sure it’s in China’s interest. But anything absolutely anything to get North Korea under control is better than what we have now even if China walks away with something big period and no matter what the North Koreans will be better off even under the Chinese

China is a wild card, hard to say what they will do if the shooting starts.

What if...

It was a combined US and China operation?

That would be a game changer around the world.

Not saying it will happen, but something to consider.

This could also be a mobilization intended to warn off Trump and the US. And it’s possible it’s being conducted by the Chinese military without direct orders or even consent from Xi. Several of their highest ranking generals have for years been making noises about taking us on, and saving face being the motivation in most things the Chinese do it would actually surprise me if everybody there was on board with taking out Kim. Some would see it as an intolerable kowtow to the USA. We will know soon enough.

They have lots of “stuff” but most of it is old stuff and probably not well-maintained. Many of the troops are sent to work in the fields. They don’t have the resources(i.e. gas) for much training.
IIRC their military needs several months to “spin up” to readiness. Any moves like that will raise the ire of the Chinese who see North Korea as a “little brother”.

True.
Once the threat of hostility is removed, TRADE and NORMAL RELATIONS CAN BEGIN.
Once economic ties are tight and long term, then they will be a satellite of Beijing................

U.S. does all the dirty work and they get all of the spoils. I think that is how they want to play it.
