Damn! All the good ones are dying. Soon there will be no more rock and roll!

Chuck Berry is no longer riding along in his automobile. Johnny Cash is no longer cashing his royalty checks. Some of Sister Sledge and most of McFadden & Whitehead are dead, dead, dead.

John Stewart and Gerry Rafferty - both dead. John Wetton of Asia is no longer in the Heat of the Moment. David Bowie, Prince and that one guy who drummed for that band whose name I can't remember are all dead, dead, dead. Laura Branigan, Greg Lake (of Emerson Lake & Palmer) and Juice Newton are dead dead dead.

I can go on with hundreds and hundreds of names but I'll name a few more. Waylon Jennings who got off that plan to make room for J.P. Richardson could not cheat death in the end and joined the Big Bopper and Buddy Holly after all. Jim Croce no longer has time in a bottle. Some dude from the Beastie Boys and a few other rappers are dead, dead, dead.

I can't remember his name but that guy who drummed for Led Zeppelin is also dead and Keith Moon is too. Jimi Hendrix, Jim Morrison and Janis Joplin are now Riders on the Storm. Leonard Cohen is dead along with some members of The B-52s and the Pretenders. All of the Talking Heads are still alive - thank God. But for how much longer? How much longer?

Keith Emerson of ELP — the most sad to me since he suicided since he couldn’t really play anymore.

I was a *MASSIVE* ELP fan! I would listen to “Works” all 6 sides over and over.

Damn! All the good ones are dying. Soon there will be no more rock and roll!

Baby Boomers, for all we complain about them, still hold the honor of being responsible for the greatest music ever recorded. Kids today, born in the 90s and later still listen to music recorded by people born in the 1940s. That's how much this stuff endures.

And now they are all hitting their 70s and are starting to drop like flies. As bad as 2016 was, '17 will be worse and '18 and '19...

The Ramones are the only band I can think of off the top of my head where all the founding members are dead. The Beatles and The Who are two for four. Yep. It won't be long.

Saw them in the LA Coliseum in 1981 with Prince, George Thorogood and The Stones.

I did not know Waylon Jennings was dead. I just started getting into some of his music. Love his rendition of “Will the Wolf Survive” (originally by Los Lobos). I get him and Merle Haggard mixed up.

“Leonard Cohen is dead along with some members of The B-52s”

Only one member of the B-52s is dead . He died of AIDS in 1985 . All 3 of the male members of that band were/are gay BTW , and one of the female singers is a lesbian and married ...to a woman of course .

Some good news - Juice Newton is still with us. So many of the ones we grew up with including the ones you listed are not and that is sad. Sometimes it seems like a totally different world now and not a better one.
