Damn! All the good ones are dying. Soon there will be no more rock and roll!

Baby Boomers, for all we complain about them, still hold the honor of being responsible for the greatest music ever recorded. Kids today, born in the 90s and later still listen to music recorded by people born in the 1940s. That's how much this stuff endures.

And now they are all hitting their 70s and are starting to drop like flies. As bad as 2016 was, '17 will be worse and '18 and '19...

The Ramones are the only band I can think of off the top of my head where all the founding members are dead. The Beatles and The Who are two for four. Yep. It won't be long.

Couldn't agree more. My two sons who are in their mid 20s prefer bands like Lynyrd Skynyrd, Journey and Pink Floyd to the music of today. That rock era produced some timeless music. While some good music still gets made today, the rock era pretty much ended in the mid 1990s with the "grunge" movement.

Speaking of The Ramones, I was over at 315 Bowery just this afternoon and I was remembering how bands like Ramones, Talking Heads, Blondie and even The Police got their start there. Formerly known as CBGBs.

The Ramones are the unluckiest band in rock history.

3 of the 4 were dead of cancer before they became senior citizens and, I would think, before they actually made any real money.

Any tour with Joey + somebody from the original lineup today would probably make them more in one night than any year in the 70s and 80s.
