President Trump has ordered his military advisers to be ready with a list of options to smash North Korea’s nuclear threat.
One of the advisers, Lieutenant General H. R. McMaster, confirmed his Commander-in-Chief has made the order as a U.S. carrier strike group heads for the region.
It is believed that among the options are combined special forces raids and pre-emptive missile strikes.
One of the problems facing an American-led operation to hit Pyongyang’s leader Kim Jong-Un is the intricate tunnel network under the capital.
War-planners have had difficulty mapping out the subterranean complex and believe there are hundreds of underground artillery and airplane sites.
McMaster described the decision to redeploy the USS Carl Vinson to the Sea of Japan as ‘prudent’ given North Korea’s ‘pattern of provocative behavior.’

If the US did not have multiple plans for dealing with the Norks- that would be news. Hopefully the US and China came to a mutual agreement that Fatboy and his nuclear ventures must come to an end. What happens afterward is the tricky part. Chemical artillery rounds fired into Seoul would not be good and probably hard to stop. Interception of bigger rockets would hopefully be reasonably easy. Best option-China induces the Nork military to eliminate Fatboy and then start the process of elimination of all nuclear and chemical weapons along with stopping the support for other nuke wannabes and terror regimes. International help would be forthcoming for the Norks and they could become a more open society joining the civilized world.
U.S. policy for hellholes like N. Korea should be massive drops of food, guns, and ammo out in the countryside, in such quantities that the government is incapable of preventing a well-fed, well-armed citizenry. Then, let nature take its course.
Every military power has war plans for all other military powers that could be a threat. It would be a dereliction of duty to not have such plans.

It never stopped. I had a couple of cousins over there even during Ike as potus, and crap from the NK was constant.

I doubt that the Chinese troops are there to protect Kim Jong-un’s back and his military know it. The prospect of Chinese ground troops and massive American naval bombardment ought to give them something to think about when they are pondering Kim Jong-un’s future. The best outcome would be regime change without a shot being fired. But there’s always Door #2 if they are high rollers.
I’ve long thought we should bomb the hell out of NK.

Kim Jong-un was spouting off today about how he’s ready for war and ready to retaliate. Apparently he thinks he will have something left besides rocks with which to retaliate after the first punch. Probably not a smart bet. Any first strike will be designed to eliminate his thousands of artillery tubes, his missiles, his tanks, whatever he’s got. This will be about as far from a fair fight as you can imagine. China won’t protect him any more, and may well join the party in getting rid of him.
The decision was made awhile ago that a North Korea with nuclear weapons and missiles that can deliver them simply will not be allowed to occur. Trump won’t leave that problem for the next guy to deal with.
Actually, there's not a speck of dust on OPLAN 5029, which is the go-to plan for war on the Korean peninsula. Its contents are classified but its existence is not. That battle plan has been updated so constantly that I doubt most of us oldtimers would even recognized it today if we saw it. Rest assured that all major combatant commanders are familiar with it, and right now most of them are very familiar with its latest versions. But the kicker is China -- nobody ever dreamed that the Chicoms storming across the Yalu might be on our side. That's just to much to comprehend.
China understands that what the Norks are doing is bad for business. Their response will be similar to a Mafia don.

Now, facing the NK generals instead of a threat just from the US, they have a clear and present danger with 150,000 ChiCom Spec Ops Troops with backing from our Navy.
Let their intel spooks intercept some messages between the ChiComs and US Navy re calibrating targets and when to pull the plug.
The NK generals/leaders just might remove fat boy for us and the rest of the world.

They have 150,000 ChiCom SpecOps at their border and a US Carrier task force under the command of Crazy Trump and McMasters and a Sec of Defense, who may be even more deadly.
Plus, they don’t know how many US nuclear attack Subs have locked in NK targets with missiles that make the Tomahawks look like cheap fire works.
Those subs can be within 7500 miles of NK targets and can devaste NK in minutes with their Trident Missiles.
Each Trident missile has a range of up to 7,500 miles (12,000km) and is accurate to within a few feet. Their destructive power is estimated as the equivalent of eight Hiroshimas.
