Trump orders military advisers to prepare plans to hit North Korea

President Trump has ordered his military advisers to be ready with a list of options to smash North Korea’s nuclear threat.

One of the advisers, Lieutenant General H. R. McMaster, confirmed his Commander-in-Chief has made the order as a U.S. carrier strike group heads for the region.

It is believed that among the options are combined special forces raids and pre-emptive missile strikes.

One of the problems facing an American-led operation to hit Pyongyang’s leader Kim Jong-Un is the intricate tunnel network under the capital.

War-planners have had difficulty mapping out the subterranean complex and believe there are hundreds of underground artillery and airplane sites.

McMaster described the decision to redeploy the USS Carl Vinson to the Sea of Japan as ‘prudent’ given North Korea’s ‘pattern of provocative behavior.’

I don’t think they have 2 hours. I would suspect we have subs that could deliver massive tonnage in 10 minutes.

I am almost certain his army will not fight.

The military always have such contingency plans. No doubt it is just updating the ones we now have. Why this is considered news is beyond me.

Yep. And they don’t even have to be nukes. Remember that we have those SSGNs, the converted Ohio-class boomers the now launch cruise missiles.

It appears to me that we are working together on this.

This is what I am thinking too. I think that meeting with Trump has got China thinking it needs to reign in North Korea.

The question is, “What’s in it for China?”

China probably would demand, in exchange to allowing the North Korean regime to meet its’ end, for US troops to leave the Korean Peninsula when the North Korean problem is resolved.

China and South Korea aren’t exactly enemies anymore, although sometimes there are tensions between the two.

Way down upon the Yalu River,
Far, far away,
That’s where my Seoul is burning ever,
That’s where the old NORKs play.
All Pyongyang is sad and dreary
Everywhere I roam,
Oh Silla, how my heart grows weary,
Far from the old Chosun home.

That’s “rein in”, though “reign” also makes sense in the context.

Well if Trump has anything to do with it work may be harder to find in China.

As if we didn’t already have plans to hit North Korea?

I believe we have contingency plans to hit every country on earth. Certain countries may be friends today, but you never know about tomorrow. look at Cuba, Libya, and Iran.

The question is, “What’s in it for China?”

Prevention of the loss of face, coupled with less potential of war with the United States.

All it takes is one puffy hat with a pistol. China may be massing up because it knows there may be someone ready to do the deed and they don’t want South Korea to get the peninsula.

I still say reunification of north and South Korea would be in China best interest financially. Hit the poor SK with hundreds of millions in costs. It would bankrupt them on the crisp of the coming nex global recession. Then the Chinese can have moral high ground with a peaceful reunification with Taiwan. JMHO as ignorant as it may be.

“Could be a negotiating position to put pressure on China and the little Fat NK bas$ard.”

This isn’t pressure on China. President Xi was just visiting Trump down at Mar-a-LaGo and some kind of notice or deal has already been struck. The pressure is certainly on Kim Jong-un, and probably from two directions.

Tomahawks launched on Syria about a week after King Abdullah of Jordan and Egypt’s President al Sisi had met with Trump and that’s not a coincidence.

Trump lines up local powers before the show. Unlike Syria a fight with the Norks will be a big deal, one that could put an end to the reign of the Kims and maybe bring the never-ended Korean War to a close. If I was Kim Jong-un I’d be real worried about any Chinese troops loitering on my border.
