How did ‘less than stellar’ high school student Jared Kushner get into Harvard?
The Guardian ^ | 11/18/2016 | Daniel Golden

Posted on 04/07/2017 7:38:16 PM PDT by AC Beach Patrol

would like to express my gratitude to Jared Kushner for reviving interest in my 2006 book, The Price of Admission. I have never met or spoken with him, and it’s rare in this life to find such a selfless benefactor. Of course, I doubt he became Donald Trump’s son-in-law and consigliere merely to boost my lagging sales, but still, I’m thankful.

My book exposed a grubby secret of American higher education: that the rich buy their underachieving children’s way into elite universities with massive, tax-deductible donations. It reported that New Jersey real estate developer Charles Kushner had pledged $2.5m to Harvard University not long before his son Jared was admitted to the prestigious Ivy League school, which at the time accepted about one of every nine applicants. (Nowadays, it only takes one out of 20.)

Harvard loves legacy kids and celebrities like no other school.

Harvard doesn’t set very high standards anymore. If you’ve got money or a good government grant, you’re in. Skin tone also helps.

Yes. Nothing merits more consideration in academe’s merit system than a nice big Meritorious contribution.

Is that really true, because both of my cousins applied to Harvard because they have top notch A grades in high school and they aren’t really rich.

Is that true? People have been telling me that for years.

Not as well as Jared. But I provide for my family. I don’t do jealousy of others who have done much more than I. I’m content.

Harvard’s enrollment is hardly a list of the best and brightest. Its a list of the rich, the famous, or the fashionable. Now-a-days, fashionable is ethnic, immigrant, or somewhere past gay. Harvard will tell you straight up that they do not accept many valedictorians, perfect SAT test takers and, straight A students. But they do like movie stars, children of well connected politicians, and those who’s fathers could make Harvard proud in some future date. Like Mrs. Assad who was accepted to the Harvard Business school before changing her mind to run off and marry a genocidal tyrant. It seemed that both Harvard and Assad saw something in her. Wonder what it was?

But nothing says Harvard more than the Kennedy School of Government. The school was originally funded by Joseph Kennedy to get his son back into Harvard. After Joseph bought his son into Harvard in the first place, he showed his gratitude by drinking all the time and paying others to take his tests and write his papers. When he was caught and tossed out he joined the army without telling his father. A year later he came crawling back. Joseph paid off politicians to get his son out of the army even though he signed up to a 4 year commitment. But it cost him a whole lot more to get the future “Lion of the the Senate” back into Harvard. Harvard took in millions from Papa Kennedy in the days where millions was real money. Everything started to get the Kennedy name, because the money was that large. And Teddy was certainly educated by Harvard. It was there that he learned his father could buy off anybody. Even if he was caught drunk driving several times, caught evading police, caught killing a women and leaving the scene of the accident, and of course his brothers Senate seat.

Understood - they were just rhetorical questions.
The Mainstream Media has no interest in investigating the 'one's' mysterious background. They are in league with Satan and they'll do all they can to provide cover for Satan's allies and useful idiots.

Those are the ones discriminated against in reality. The middle - or the upper-middle to be precise in this case as these are expensive schools.

The advantage is held by the rich and those who get minority preference. Its the top and bottom squeezing out the middle.

Even Albert Einstein was not a stellar student.

But he was exceptional.

From my memory of Clarks's biography: On a geology field trip the professor asked him whether the fault was slanting upwards or downwards at this location. Einstein replied, "It's all the same to me whichever way it goes."

Aha, here it is ...

"Now Einstien, how do the strata run here? From below upwards or vice versa?" the reply was unexpected: "It is pretty much the same to me whichever way they run, Professor."

Funny thing: I questioned my recollection because it doesn't really make any sense. The descriptions are equivalent!

I guess that's beside the point, Einstein was, in Clark's term, "The impudent Swabian".

I remember when schools like Stanford had standards and didn’t admit students who wrote “Black Lives Matter” 100 times on their admission form and got admitted because of it.

Pot... kettle.

You mean students get into schools based upon money?

OMG STOP THE PRESSES!

A tyrant cannot be without a good bookkeeper...how else is he supposed to accurately calculate how much money he is stealing from his peasants? /sarcasm;)
