Trump is addressing the problem, not the symptom.

All our immigration problems are caused by our ignoring the causes in the other nations. Instead, we have been addressing the symptoms as they reach our nation.

If the world would address the actual problems that are causing the refugees and poor, many countries, especially the trouble spots, would be far better off.

The missile strike addressed part of the problem, which was increasing because of chemical weapons. Doing nothing was not in a competent president's plan.

And dropping a handful of missiles on inconsequential territory with prior warning was certainly....something (I suppose).

I’m sorry, but I don’t give a rat’s red behind if Assad gassed his people. Not one bit. This is NONSENSE. It’s EXACTLY what Clinton and obunghole would have done. This is directly opposed to every reason I voted for him.

Didn’t Obama not do anything about Assad and the red line?

Yes, there’s all sorts of problems with this. But it’s time somebody did something to a problem that has spread to Europe and beyond.

That’s my focus.

You sir don’t seem to understand. As an American it is your patriotic duty to stick your nose into every conflict on Earth!

You should be ashamed.

Trump is projecting strength. This garners respect from friends and foes alike. Plus, it keeps all the rest of the nuisance issues, like accusation of being a Russian puppet, to rest for good.

The extent of Syrian engagement will make it clear what is to be expected in the coming months and years. Trump cleaning house in the ME and Latin America could make him the greatest leader in the history of the world. Or he might get back stabbed, like Bush did, and be relegated to being a joke, like Bush has become, unfortunately.

I’m all for bombing a moslem country but bombing Syria did NOTHING about the underlying problems.

There are still moslems. There are still moslems here.

Until there are no moslems here in these United States there will be terrorist acts done here.

Until there are no moslems anywhere there will be terrosist acts performed.

The ONLY way to win the war on terror is to eradicate islam. The Koran and hadith leave us no other options.

Even if he used gas (which is contested), Assad is the good guy in this conflict. All the other combatants are radical moslems.

Our best response is to just back off and say we won’t be fighting in Obama’s war anymore.

“Our best response is to just back off and say we won’t be fighting in Obama’s war anymore.”

I think it is kind of late to do that. Trump has escalated it. No more beating around the bush like timid Obama did.

Understand the frustration and I have a few of my own but this isn’t News/Activism. Belongs elsewhere.

I take umbrage with these people that want reason, logic and evidence before responding in knee jerk fashion. It is patently every American’s RIGHT to comprehensively rule from the comfort of their armchair. Archie Bunker said so!

Sorry, but dropping a few misles addresses no problem and possibly starts a war with Russia which is a humongous problem.

Assuming Trump knows that Assad directed a sarin attack, perhaps Trump is trying to
-let Putin know that there are consequences for breaking promises
-let Xi know that he won’t hesitate to use violence in response to provocation
-throw a distracting bone to the Globalists

Trump would know better than I if the attack was effective for any of those goals.

Many governments do monstrous things to innocents on a daily basis, and yet we do nothing. I don’t think the moral case that Trump made, *by itself*, justifies our military response. He must also demonstrate that blowing up things and killing people, in this case, has a lasting benefit to our national interests. Is it going to deter bad actors from using chemical weapons in the future? Assad maybe, for a while, but otherwise probably not.

Every time a liberal President takes a big dump, the next Republican steps right into it. That leader has assumed every conflict and it’s consequences pinned on him (rightly or wrongly). In this case, this is an extension of the Obama fiasco with these idiotic warhawks who like to see stuff go boom. How does this make anything better? Because the liberals and RINOs love it makes it special? A real show of strength and resolve would be carpet bombing and A-10 straffing ISIS that would make “highway of death” pale in comparison, or in response to some of the deadly terror attacks, unleashing Delta behind the scenes. Tomahawk diplomacy is what a Clinton administration would do saying, “Hey, I did something”. If Assad really did gas his people then it would be prudent to remove the SOB forever by a coalition. Unilaterally doing this in Syria makes our foreign policy bipolar. Attacking Assad only enrages him and Russia and strengthens ISIS resolve. Furthermore, it legitimizes the imbeciles Clinton and McCain who are insane with their love of these “moderate” ISIS members and lust for provoking Russia. The whole thing is a typical US foreign policy mess as America domestically is in real trouble. This was not MAGA.

A totally insane globalist world police take on immigration. We cannot make the third world an equally desirable place to live as America(except by third world immigration to America).

We have an immigration problem because our leaders want open borders and the American people have repeatedly refused to vote for candidates who want to change that.

Equally desirable place to live? Who said that?

This problem is global, not just the US.
