Yaaay, nuke the POS Demoncraps!!!
Great pic. Looks like Schumer is about to slip him a shiv.
I believe they’re also voting on changing the rules that currently require 30 hours of debate down to 8 :)
I'm not a huge fan of McConnell and I don't trust the GOP, but these people know they are on the right side of history as well as the right side of the political battle on this one. Donald Trump was elected president because a lot of Americans are sick of a government that doesn't get even simple sh!t done ... and a Supreme Court nomination ought to be about as simple as it gets in Washington.
Gorsuch is a straight shooter. I would say if there are 52 votes to change a historic filibuster rule there should be 52 or more votes to confirm Gorsuch.
It’s about time! Good for McConnell! (He’s still on probation, in my book, but this was a good move.)
The commie Rats started this fight. Good to see the GOP finish it. The DemoRats were just going to go nuclear with their next president’s SCOTUS appointment. Good to see the GOP beat them to it.
Joe Manchin is a pathological liar and a partisan demonicRAT hack. I'm tired of the ignorami nattering that he should become a Republican. NO!!! He should become UNEMPLOYED!
If he were a hardcore idealogue who was certain to be a solid conservative vote on social issues he wouldn’t have gotten this treatment by the Repukes. It’s theater so they can pretend they are with us
Given the past, oh, 40+ years of spineless GOP groveling to the MSM and Democraps, it is never reasonable to trust the GOP to do the right thing. When it happens, great and wonderful. But it is ridiculous for you to attack fellow FReepers for not trusting GOP leadership, given the track record.
A few talking heads say that a Supreme Court Justice wants to announce his retirement in June. If it’s middleman Kennedy, Trump can move the court to the right.
And it’s also a very good reason for conservatives to vote for Trump again in 2020 for a full 8 years in office, Trump could keep the court to the right for the next 20 to 30 years, which should be incentive enough.
He had a lot of Democrats in R jerseys whose natural instinct is to fold to whatever the Democrats want.
Collins, Murkowsky, McCain, Graham, etc.
The senate goes full harryreid!
“Assuming that all 52 votes were pubbies, what happened to the three Dumbs, I mean Dems who said they are voting for Gorsuch?”
^^^^^
They still voted to end debate in the next vote. The revote to end debate and move on was 55 - 45.
How nice, executing on a plan...finally.
It’s just a Senate rule-or was.
Can we now give McConnell some credit.... or is that still unacceptable here?
