It definitely does fall on the dems.
You taking care of yourself? I hit church yesterday for ya.
All of this is secondary BS for now.

Anyone wanna take bets on some means by which the republicans will once again bend over and take the Obama position?

The number of justices on SCOTUS is set by Congress.
28 USC 1 The number has not always been set at nine.

Does McCain ever announce he is stabbing the party in the back before he does it? Actually, yes. He rather enjoys the media coverage.
To: FlipWilson
McCain came out yesterday, and said he would support changing the rules if the Democrats filibustered Gorsuch.
This is what makes the Democrats filibuster so asinine - they are filibustering the confirmation of a conservative judge replacing an even more conservative judge, which will lead to changing the rules, when the next 3 oldest judges are liberals!
Laughably stupid!!

Like someone said, the Dems would filibuster a communist (Ginsburg) if Trump nominated them.

Well lets see now. One, two, three. So we need 51?????????

Did cloture at 60 votes fail?
To: Cementjungle
They’ll probably vote to take a six month vacation.

After the confirmation vote that may not be a bad thing.

Dems are only looking for a concession on the next pick. Will Trump blink and give it to them. Republican Senators have nothing to trade because the pick is Trump’s. All this district court stuff is to make the Gorsuch choice all that important. But, from what I’ve seen, Republican’s - or those who we think believe like us - haven’t won a hand in years. If the Dems cave and give the 60 votes - mark my words - Republicans caved on something.

The dems are thinking they get to be the first to nuke legislation next time they own house, senate, and presidency.
They see single payer in their future.

Yes, cloture vote failed some time ago. NAY had 41 for the last 15 minutes or so. This just sets the stage for the motion to change the application of Rule XXII when the question pertains to voting on a Supreme Court justice.
