Climate change is rapidly becoming a crisis that defies hyperbole.
For all the sound and fury of climate change denialists, self-deluding politicians and a very bewildered global public, the science behind climate change is rock solid while the impacts observed on every ecosystem on the planet are occurring faster in many parts of the world than even the most gloomy scientists predicted.
Given all this, its logical to assume life on Earth the millions of species that cohabitate our little ball of rock in space would be impacted. But it still feels unnerving to discover that this is no longer about just polar bears; its not only coral reefs and sea turtles or pikas and penguins; it about practically everything including us.

Oooh - ANOTHER ‘climate change’ story.
Anything to get Susan Rice off the front page, maybe?
And what proof has ever been offered that there is any change beyond weather cycles?
Well, I HAVE been having a nagging pain in my lower left genome the past couple of days. I tried wrapping it but didn’t help much.
Your tax dollars are being used to bribe these people to concoct these stories.
Trump is making Barbra Streisand fat.
She said so.
“a crisis that defies hyperbole.”
If they write just one more outrageous claim like this, the entire universe will blow up.
Does it ever occur to this self styled ivy tower intellects that the only thing constant on the earth and the universe is change!
talk about fake news!
Let’s say it is. My guess: some of it good, some of it bad. Big deal. Then there’s the matter of what’s causing the climate change.
The jist of the article is that since there are changes, ie evolution, it must be caused by global warming and that since evolution can not happen fast enough to save the species we are all going to die!
If you do any research on the subject at all you realize that there have always been changes in species and there likely always will.
While we have had global warming for the last 10,000 to 12,000 years I'm afraid that all may end soon much to our detriment as humans. While it is possible that humans will survive the next ice age, just like previous ice ages and inter glacial warm periods many species will not survive.
People should refrain from making pronouncements about things they know little or nothing about.
The writer of this article has added 1 plus 1 and gotten 11. He is an idiot, an ignorant fool.
Aren’t these the same “scientists” who espouse EVOLUTION...?
SO WHAT IS THERE TO WORRY ABOUT?
Its Mother Nature at work.... leave her alone
Man contributes less than 2% of the Co2.... why not focus on the other 98% which comes from Mother Nature....
Its been going on for 4.5 billion years
Can you imagine if these scaremongers were around when there was only ONE continent and it was in the process of breaking up....
Besides so far we have story after story of the “scientists” manipulating the data and producing false forecasts.... why believe them at all?
After all its the SUN that creates climate and climate change through interaction with the ocean and currents...
But i guess scares sell appears and climate change is really about income redistribution filtered through the hands of the ultra elite with lots of it getting stuck on sticky fingers... right Al Gore...??? Michael Moore... and all the crooked scientists distorting facts..???
More Grant Money!! More Grant Money!
I just love climate change. It’s the duct tape of theories: there is simply nothing it cannot do.
“The gist of the article is that since there are changes, ie evolution, it must be caused by global warming and that since evolution can not happen fast enough to save the species we are all going to die!”
We’re all going to die anyway, some sooner, some later.
And what proof has ever been offered that there is any change beyond weather cycles?
Only almost all of geology, paleontology, the fossil record, and the historical record.
If you mean to include natural climate cycles and change, then very little.
Its the Climate Cult and their neo-pagan religion at it again:
Angry mother gaia can punish sinful, wicked, wasteful mankind in any unexpected ways.
Yes, you better believe and obey, or she will make a hell on Earth!
Pffft! Every time Mt. Etna burps up a cloud of ash and CO2 it puts more CO2 into the air than all of mankind has in its entire existence.
What they never talk about is the true cause of humanity’s impact on the earth and that is simply over population. Meanwhile 3rd world and Muslim people are having up to 10 babies like they are a crop and not a family hoping a few survive to take care of the parents when they get old.
Saw a program on TV the other day that used satellites to find old rivers. At one time there were many rivers in the area now the Sahara desert.
Most reasonable people will not deny that the earth’s climate changes. Man on the other hand has nothing to do with the change.
All the life that once existed in the tropic that once covered the Sahara either adapted, moved or become extinct. That is the nature of our world.
Man is at the top of the food chain because he can adapt to almost any environment.
Man made climate change is a scam.
It is no such thing. The statement is patent horseshit.
Further, to foist this tripe of UF's Brett Scheffers off a conclusive indictment because of the human genome? Does he even know what the word means. You find "abnormalities" over some limited time period in 77 out of 94 ecological species and you call that 'genome' conclusive? H-O-R-S-E-S-H-I-T. Use a big science word. and mumble 1 degree celcius and say presto-changeo we have a biological disaster? This professor hasn't had enough time to figure out if he can last another day on his skivvies for crying out loud. Do not these GW people even read their own blather? Sheesh.
