"It is absolute suicide for the Republican Party to follow the course that they're embarking on right now," L. Brent Bozell III, the chairman of For America, told a conference call.
"All the studies show that premiums are going to go up. The Republican Party will own health care -- Paul Ryan and the Republican leadership in the Senate will own Obamacare, and national health care after this -- if they go down this road.
Bozell said Republicans could well lose the House and Senate in 2018 if they dont rethink what theyre doing. It will be a rout against Republicans.

The left is pulling back on its attacks against Ivanka. NBC news just published a major puff piece on her involvement in the White House. Glowingly gushing.
Best proof possible that someone’s a leftist is when the mainstream media starts to write complimentary stories about them. Sure fire way of spotting the enemy.
You have recently been a well thought out voice for the people’s liberty.
Okay, Bannon, you can reveal your identity now.
not flinching?
He could have taken out someone’s eye.
He should get that checked out.
Since the leaders of the HFC have ALREADY spent hours negotiating with President Trump, how is it even possible that the HFC has NOT presented its “initiatives” already?
What IS possible (and highly likely, IMHO) is that the HFC has refused to define those “initiatives” in a single WRITTEN document that the HFC agree to support. Answer me this: If the 30 HFC members cannot agree on ONE bill, how can anyone take them seriously?
Some politicians say that “Indecisiveness is the KEY to flexibility!”
I say that American patriots have had enough of that.
Well said, and I agree.
“Answer me this: If the 30 HFC members cannot agree on ONE bill, how can anyone take them seriously?”
Answer me this:
If Trump van Ryan came to your caucus door to pitch a THREE part plan where you take what is essentially poison to your principles, then remain calm during the nebulous phase 2 minor adjustments and then finally donate to the Senate Rs your like your life depends on it - because phase 3’s antidote relies on it.... would you take THEM seriously?
7 years of ‘repeal Obamacare’ talk. We gave them a majority in the House. a majority in the Senate and the White House so they could turn that talk to action. They come up with a terrible bill and can’t even get it to a vote. Then they tell us ‘don’t worry, we’ll have another go once Obamacare has exploded and the Dims have to negotiate’. Meanwhile, we’re the ones who continue suffering through ever-increasing premiums.
Enough is enough. This is a problem we elected them to FIX. Not to argue about among themselves - FIX. Not to give up on after just a couple of weeks - FIX. Not to stand aside and watch in comfort while we suffer - FIX.
Either do the job NOW or we’ll find someone else.
Howie Carr is someone else who knows the score:
Not all, but too many.
I believe they were very clear on their initiative you just chose not to listen. They were simple. Paul had the bill passed dozens of times vetoed by the one at the ready. It was passed I’ve and I’ve again in a Rebublican house and Senate yet that wasn’t sent to Trumps desk. Option two is ANY legislation passed need to bring down present premiums and deductibles.
This was very clear to those that listened.
Time and time again....damn iPhone
Somebody finally said it.
Remember dear FRiends, the HFC has a bunch of unrepentant never Trumpers, Cruz bitter losers.
We have no responsibility to insure illegal aliens.
Sorry...
Mo Brooks, a member of the HFC, has written a simple, repeal only bill.
WHY does that bill NOT have 29 co-sponsors from the HFC?
If the HFC would form such a nucleus of support for Mo Brook’s bill, wouldn’t other Republicans join? So WHY is the HFC being so “coy”, instead?
One has to ask if the HFC is capable of getting to “yes”.
Now, here is an answer to your question: Since the RyanCare bill did NOT pass, a NEW bill is required. So why don’t we deal with that fact and:
WRITE and PASS a NEW Bill!
In this situation, I think sanctimonious “virtue-signaling” is a waste of time.
Instead, PASS THE BILL!
Two essentials
1. repeal penalty “tax”
2. bar coverage mandates of any kind
There should be no iron rice bowls filled with “gold” extracted by coercive government force, state or federal.
The Mental Health Parity Act needs to be repealed.
I’ve always been an “at-will” employee.
I want equality. The type of coverage insurers offer should be their choice. Whether I buy any such coverage should be my choice.
Thats not true at all

“Obamacare wont be repealed, because it cant be repealed - or, more exactly, it cant be repealed without ushering in huge Democratic majorities in the House and the Senate.”
Medical “insurance” is not like food stamps.
Most people wouldn’t know the difference if they lost their ~$5,000 deductible “bronze” boondoggles - too expensive to use, never pay anything at all in any particular year for ~98% of bronze plan “covered” persons.
I have carefully crafted a plan that increases freedom, expands coverage to millions more and has a total plan cost to Uncle Sam of about what the PPACA does.
Version 4.6:
http://www.freerepublic.com/~briangriffin/
no employer or individual mandates or fines
Drug coverage and health care service coverage would have separate subsidies.
The federal monthly care subsidy base amount for a US citizen age 23 and over would be:
(age factor*$30) - (’normally attainable annual income estimate’**2/20000*(105-3*age factor))
[At age 64, the maximum subsidy would be $439.20/month and eligibility would end at $24,187/year.]
[At age 40, the maximum subsidy would be $142.80/month and eligibility would end at $16,432/year.]
[At age 26, the maximum subsidy would be $83.25/month and eligibility would end at $13,145/year.]
The federal monthly drug subsidy base amount for a US citizen at least 26 years of age would be:
(age bracket multiplier*$8) - (’normally attainable annual income estimate’**2/20000*(350-10*age bracket multiplier))
[At age 64, the maximum would be $116.76/month and eligibility would end at $21,909.]
[At age 26, the maximum would be $27.82/month and eligibility would end at $14,085.]
Square-law falloff subsidies are used instead of linear falloff subsidies to better serve lower income recipients.
extraordinary mandatory issue open season - every 4 years, exchange only
employer tax credits for optional annual open seasons
no coverage mandates - only federal subsidy reductions based on coverage limits & co-pay/co-insurance/deductibles:
The monthly care subsidy amount of a person shall be:
(monthly care subsidy base amount of a person)*
(the person’s plan care scope factor*the person’s policy financial quality factor)/10000
state PPACA Medicaid expansion contributions 10% -> 28%,
(or block grants, on a 80/20 [and 70/30] federal/state matching basis)
[This helps provide the money to cover millions more individually.]
hospital block grants to help exceptional cases with premium payments
80% maximum federal subsidies, except via hospital block grants
loss ratio tax on non-employer plans
small premium increases possible in case of insurer need
My proposal would have drug coverage other than grandfathered PPACA plans on a coverage provider negotiated or consumer market basis.
Mine eyes glaze over (MEGO)
Too much wonk and not enough real lifting of the original objection, which is “government decides”.
