"All the studies show that premiums are going to go up. The Republican Party will own health care -- Paul Ryan and the Republican leadership in the Senate will own Obamacare, and national health care after this -- if they go down this road.”
Bozell said Republicans “could well lose the House and Senate in 2018” if they don’t rethink what they’re doing. “It will be a rout against Republicans.”

Bozell also had a message for President Trump: “I also urge the president to rethink these attacks on The Freedom Caucus. Not only is he going to need the Freedom Caucus in virtually every single fight to come, but the irony is, that The Freedom Caucus is going to be his strongest supporters in the battles ahead.”
I agree with Bozell completely and I really hope Trump decides to call off this war he's declared against conservatives before it's too late.
The HFC needs to make Ryan bring the darn repeal to a vote.
Then, McConnell needs to do the same.
Then, Trump can sign it.
Trump believes he can work with the crap sandwich of Ryancare, but the HFC will need to get Ryan to bring “Phase 3” to a vote.
Bozell is 100% correct here.
Trump is doing in both the House GOP majority and his presidency with his very first involvement in legislation.
This falls on both him and whichever of his advisers he is listening to on it.

As things stand right now:
Trump is siding 100% with Ryan and the GOP establishment on health care and has stated his intention to fight and defeat members of the HFC in the next election.
How is the HFC supposed to do lead on legislative initiatives (make Ryan bring...) under those circumstances?
This issue with Obamacare will not cause me to vote for a democrat ever. I will still vote for the Republican whomever it is as I think most Trump supporters will. It’s ridiculous to think that this will cause us all to turn against Trump.

Whoever Trump is listening to right now needs to be neutralized.
If it’s Priebus, that’s a possible. He can be replaced easily (and should be, right away, in my opinion).
But if he’s now listening primarily to Ivanka and Jared Kushner, then we have a really, really big problem here.

Then let Ryancare pass and make Trump do Phase 2.
Ryancare will allow front-loading of savings to help with early tax cuts. Once employment and investment pick up, Phase 3 should be easier to do.

But the entire House of Representatives is. Every house seat is up for re-election in 2018. And a bunch of senate seats too.
If Republicans betray their base and fail to repeal Obamare, if they pass Ryan’s Obamacare Lite instead, it will be an absolute bloodbath for incumbents in 2018 as conservative voters will just stay home.

If you actually believe the: “go along with us now, we’ll do what you want to fix it all later” thing that comes out of D.C., then all I can say is “enjoy your youth”.
I am fascinated with the twisted logic that if the republicans don’t fix health care and leave democrats’ failing health care in place that the voters will be so outraged that they will kick the republicans out of office and replace them with...democrats. Liberalism is a mental disorder.

Trump was seeing an opportunity to move legislation forward in an attempt to keep momentum moving on his promised agenda.

This thing WILL get done, it will be a compromise with the freedom caucus. The media is trying to create an atmosphere of chaos, giving folks the impression the Trump admin is in disarray. Well, it is not. All is well.

You call declaring war on conservatives “not flinching”?
The fact that this food fight had to play out in public is symptomatic of what is wrong with the GOP, which had 7 years to come up with an alternative. The GOP humiliated Trump by this defeat after he pulled out all the stops to get the bill passed. He met with the HFC and made concessions. In all, 120 GOP Congressmen met with Trump on the bill. Trump held public rallies supporting the bill. His staff fanned out all over the Capitol trying to marshal support.
Without knowing the behind the scenes negotiating that went on, it is hard to say why Trump singled out the HFC naming names. Did they renege on their promises? Did they negotiate in good faith?
The American people aren't about to give the Democrats back any power, after the way they've been behaving.

The GOP keeps the House whether they pass health care reform or not.
Having said that, I hope they get something done...
