I know of Americans who share the same opinion with the Germans.

Burkas at Oktoberfest would look like hell. And no more pork products would close the country down.

Most German media get their US news from the usual leftist suspects (WaPo, NYSlimes) and then add an extra layer of sensationalism to make things in America look even worse.
Die Zeit, for example, seems to have an almost never ending series of articles at least once a month about how bad things are for the poor in America.

I wondered about that. I know German words can be that way, but I figured the German word for “screwed” would be short, emphatic, and to the point. Kind of like in English.

How do you say screwed in German? Gefickt. Ficken is likely the the loan word that gave rise to the English f-word.

Half of my ancestors were Deutsch. I believe Trump will maintain his office as long as he succeeds in unifying the Republican caucus, preserving the majority. Otherwise the Dems and the RINOs will most likely impeach and convict him on any pretense.

The NYT has been partnering with German liberal media giant Axel Springer on a lot of ventures. Not only that, the NYT and Der Spiegel (of Bertelsmann Media) have worked together for quite a while.

What I have noticed is foreign journalists parrot the US MSM media. Nearly word for word. There is no independent indepth analysis. So it should come as no surprise people in other countries have a warped view of American politics.
